First, I had a very low bulbous nose, and my nose had been a lifelong complex, so in my early 20s I begged my mom and got my nose done at a large clinic in Gangnam. At the time, it was silicone + septal cartilage + slight hump osteotomy, and until the surgical consultation I didn’t even know I had a hump lol At first, when there was swelling, I didn’t know, but after about a month? Once the swelling between the bridge and glabella went down, I saw that it was crooked to the right. And now, looking back at old photos, from the beginning my nasal bridge direction and even my nostrils were asymmetrical. It was a bulbous nose, but since they just raised the nose without alar reduction, the fundamental issue wasn’t solved ㅜ and it was also crooked. And I felt the glabella and overall height were too high for my taste, but at that time I wasn’t unhappy with the fact that my nose itself had gotten higher, so I lived like that. After just 1 year, my nasal tip drooped so much that the nose almost looked straight. Looking at those photos now, from the front and side it almost all looked straight. The glabella was high and the tip had drooped. So from then on, I started thinking carefully about what I wanted. I’m in the provinces, and I went to a director known for natural revision surgery and said, “Please make it absolutely natural, and cut down the nostril wings as much as possible.” I emphasized natural, natural, natural, while lowering the overall height from the glabella, correcting the crookedness, and doing alar reduction. That was already 5 years ago ㅜㅜ As a result, the crookedness from the first surgery, which had tilted about 15 degrees diagonally to the right, was corrected in the opposite direction; this time, it became subtly crooked about 5 degrees to the left? But I lived satisfied for about 2 years with the rest: nasal tip, overall height, shape, nostril wings, etc. Then around year 4, the nose spread a lot and the bulbous nose feeling came back fully ... lololol I think bulbous noses come back ㅜ If you do it naturally, it seems impossible to escape the curse of a bulbous nose;; I was like, do my nostril wings have a mind of their own? Why do they keep getting bigger? And you know whatㅜ After alar reduction and revision, I thought, “Wow,,, my nostrils are the same now, they got smaller,” but after about 5 years, one nostril became slightly larger again in the direction of the facial muscles I often use? And the nostril wings overall also got somewhat larger again. The human body seems to adapt endlessly,,,, I really hope people know this part. During that time, I also went to see the director who did my revision once, and he said that because the height of both sides of my whole face is different, in cases like this it can’t help but become crooked? That’s how he explained it. Because the nose is the center of the face, there are really, really, really many factors to consider, and I think there’s a high possibility it can shift in symmetry or direction. So while deeply worrying, “Ahㅜ is my nose war never going to end?” I started looking into a third surgery without implants. Now that I’m in my 30s, silicone feels scary. And during the 7 years I lived with an artificial nose, both after the first surgery and after the revision, whenever I couldn’t sleep, was tired, or my body wasn’t well, I continuously felt a pulling sensation in my nose. So I’ve now made consultations at several clinics that do reconstruction or treatment for contracted noses and inflamed noses + specialize in autologous costal cartilage and implant-free surgery ㅜㅜ But the more I keep thinking deeply about my nose, I’m not in my 20s anymore,,, I don’t need to be pretty, and opening my nose again and making it anew... a nose isn’t an object, and it’s not something you can buy new each time like a consumable item. The human body... I’m 31 now, so if I assume I’ll live with a new nose for roughly 10 years, will I really not become dissatisfied again during that time,,?? That became the fundamental worry. Then I’d open it in my 30s, open it in my 40s, do my nose again in my 50s, and live my whole life swapping my nose out like this? That reality check hit me ㅜㅠ Of course, if there’s no particular problem, I don’t have to open it again, but since I’ve already opened my nose twice over 10 years from my early 20s to early 30s, it feels like unexpected variables can appear at any time, so maybe I’m thinking a bit skeptically about this. So now my mind is leaning a lot toward complete implant removal + cartilage repositioning. There seem to be many people here who want to get nose surgery, and I really, really hope you think it through carefully before doing it. For my first surgery, I had this youthful spirit of “I absolutely have to get my nose done!!!!!” and for my revision, the shape was so wrong that I felt I had no choice and absolutely had to do it. Someone reading this might think, “What, she had it done twice and now she’s telling others not to?” .. But the nose is such a sensitive organ. It’s not invisible; it’s right in the center of the face, like the main pillar of the face. And in the meantime, I also got double eyelid surgery;; once my eyes got bigger, attention went to my nose less. I’d thought my whole life that my nose was the problem, but now I wonder if maybe that wasn’t it,,, Nose surgery is a surgery that has to consider a very sensitive individual preference, style, and harmony with the face, and it’s a totally different concept from fillers, so the outcome is very hard to predict ㅜ So I recommend thinking about it for a really long time before doing it... That’s what this post is about ㅜ lolololol
To summarize: 1. With a bulbous nose, if you do it naturally, you can’t escape the curse of the bulbous nose. (It gets bigger again long-term.) 2. Nose surgery has to be approached very, very, very carefully so you don’t end up opening and closing it like me ... It’s not a drawer, so what am I doing opening and closing it,,,,,, I truly hope everyone can finish it in one go if possible. 3. And unless you’re so unattractive because of your nose that it damages your life, or you make a living from your face, don’t do it. That’s what I want to say,,,, It’s just something a woman who opened and closed her nose twice wanted to say. I hope everyone has a peaceful night!!!!
