I’m a man. Really, 'no one' knows. People tell me I lost a lot of weight. I was originally 57 kg because I was stressed, and after contouring I’m 63–65 kg, but they say I look like I lost a lot of weight. My height is 178 cm. At most, my chin length changed by less than 1 cm and my cheekbones just got a prettier shape, but my proportions improved and I hear that my face is 'really' small, something I’d never heard in my life. (Before, I’d very occasionally been told I had a big head, or just average.) Of course, you need some baseline features. My face was a little longer than an oval, but now it’s almost oval. (I also did my nose, so the added dimensionality was a huge gain.) Saying someone’s looks went from average to some level is honestly childish, but appearance-wise, I now get that I’m clearly handsome to anyone, or at least good-looking. Those are the pros so far.
Cons
I had an intraoral incision, and although they said it varies by person, I still have scar tissue. It’s not to the point that food gets stuck when I eat. I can definitely feel it with my tongue. But normally, unless I have nothing else to do, I don’t touch it or notice it.
The biggest thing is that about 30% of sensation in my chin tip has not returned. Honestly, around exactly 3 months after surgery, about 60% had come back, but after that only about another 10% returned, and it still hasn’t all come back.
If I sleep with my chin obviously propped up against something and wake up, I get a slight tingling feeling for about 5 minutes.
If that doesn’t happen, there’s nothing particularly uncomfortable.
When I’m thinking about this and writing this kind of post, it does feel a bit unsettling.
I definitely plan to visit the clinic sometime between 12 and 24 months post-op. My guess is that because they’re busy, they’ll just take a quick look and tell me to wait. I have a feeling it may never come back for life.
Later on, I just hope I don’t have pain or tingling even when I’m staying still.
Just having this level of numbness probably won’t really be a problem in life.
I got a pretty girlfriend. The end.
I don’t know the intent of this post either. Not long after surgery, I came to this community, made a fuss, and said I wanted to die, and I remembered that, so I came back after a long time and wrote this.
P.S. I have some free time right now, so I’ll take questions.
