About 2 months ago (7 weeks ago), I had surgery: nose bridge osteotomy, no implant, hump removal, and the nose tip raised 1 mm with septal cartilage.
My nose itself is small, but it was a hopeless nose with a hump, bulbous tip, and arrow nose. Because my nose is small, when people looked at me from the front, many didn’t even realize my nose had those problems. But I wanted to feel confident instead of being stressed because it felt like people only looked at my nose when they were next to me, so I had surgery.
When I look in the mirror, the hump that was there, even though it wasn’t high to begin with, got shaved down and now looks even lower, which makes me sad, but I think I just have to live with it since it was already shaved down.
But my concern starts now.
My original nose tip was much rounder and droopier than other people’s, and by raising that round part without any other manipulation, the roundness of the nose tip became so emphasized that it became very noticeable. Originally, because that round part was a droopy arrow nose, I didn’t really notice it, but now that part has been lifted, the tip looks swollen.
At first I thought it was because nose-tip swelling lasts a long time, but the round shape of the nose tip hasn’t changed at all from the beginning. If I lower the nose tip and make it into an arrow nose, maybe that would be better? But the upper part has already become thinner from the nose bridge osteotomy, and if I lower the tip again, maybe it will look even wider, so I’m wondering whether I’ll want to raise it again.
If the septal cartilage at the nose tip is about 1 mm, will things get better once the foreign-body feeling passes? No matter the measurement, is the foreign-body sensation unavoidable? The doctor says that with time I’ll be able to pinch the nose into a pig nose shape and twist it, but is that really possible after a support structure has been placed? It seems strange to me...
Anyway, the nose tip was never my main complex, so if the foreign-body feeling and the nose tip standing out are going to remain, I’m even thinking it might be better to remove the septal cartilage and go back to having an arrow nose.ㅠㅠ The side view hasn’t changed from beforeㅜㅜ It’s only the front view where the nose tip was lifted.
