I understand that septal cartilage is used for the nasal tip. In most cases, the nasal bridge is raised with an implant like silicone or Gore-Tex, and ear cartilage or septal cartilage is placed in the nasal tip. I understand up to this point. But they say they make a column with septal cartilage and implant it in the columella. For example, the bridge is silicone, ear cartilage is placed on the nasal tip, and septal cartilage is inserted like a core between the columella to make a column like a support strut.... In my case, the bridge is silicone, no cartilage was put in the nasal tip, and they said a small piece of septal cartilage was placed between the columella... What kind of method is that, exactly? Is there bone in the columella too.. so they insert septal cartilage like a core on top of it, like a column... and make it act as a support so the nasal tip does not droop? If so... is implanting septal cartilage like a column in the columella all that was done? After implanting it like a column, shouldn't the two alar cartilages be gathered and tied to this column??? But why did my doctor say there was no other nasal tip manipulation, and that only a small piece of septal cartilage was placed in the columella, so if it is removed, it will go back to the original state... Whether it was placed small or large.... wouldn't the alar cartilages also have to be tied together along with it? Then it seems like the cartilage tying would have to be undone... before the septal cartilage column could be removed.. So it doesn't seem like a simple manipulation... And.. my nasal tip is now raised higher than before, so the columella looks a bit short.. is this because the septal cartilage was set up like a column and pushed the nasal tip forward... if this is removed.. will the nasal tip drop like before...? I'm really curious.. To summarize, 1) If septal cartilage was implanted in the columella, and the reason was to raise the nasal tip slightly to match the bridge height increased by silicone,, and also to keep it from drooping,,,, then there is a high possibility that the two alar cartilages were tied together too, right? And that has to be undone before the septal cartilage can be removed? 2) After surgery, the nasal tip made the columella look short.. so.. because I had no information, I thought the actual columella length had really become shorter.. but that wasn't it.. the nasal tip point had moved upward, pulling on the columella... so it looked that way.. Then if the septal cartilage column is removed later.. will the nasal tip point come back down? (Of course, excluding cases where it rises temporarily due to scar contracture.. I mean assuming it has returned to its original state afterward.) Let's share information together~~
