I’m due to give birth in May.. Almost 10 years ago, I had surgery with 2 mm silicone, septal cartilage, and ear cartilage, but the center of the silicone has swung over to the right, and now the ear cartilage shows at my nasal tip like a clown’s nose.. I used to have no nasal bridge at all, and a short, small nose. Even my closest friend didn’t know I had surgery. I said I was going to do it and did it, but she said, “You said you were getting your nose done, but you didn’t~ Yeah, you should rather spend that money somewhere else.” ㅠㅠ These days, even when I look at many people passing by, I don’t see anyone whose nose is worse than mine was before surgery.. I’m really not exaggerating.. Honestly, even though it’s crooked, my current appearance looks more human than before surgery. But now that I’ve had complications, I sincerely envy people who live breathing through their own noses..
Because I’m an older mother, the pregnancy itself has already been difficult in many ways, and I never imagined I’d have complications with my nose too.. Since I’m in a situation where I can’t do anything right now, it’s even harder. My body feels heavy and my mind is in hell.. I can’t control my own feelings, so I feel so sorry that I seem to be making things hard for my family too.
Whether it’s autologous dermis or silicone, it seems like the nose inevitably develops complications someday. It’s only a matter of time. I only realized that after complications happened to my own nose. I just hope nothing happens until I give birth..
Today I’m going for a consultation at a banner hospital here. I don’t have the confidence to live getting revision surgeries every few years, so I’m planning to remove it. Though I don’t know what to do about the nasal tip.. After giving birth, I think it will be even harder to go for consultations while taking a nursing baby with me.. so I feel like I need to decide on a hospital.. But opinions on the banner hospitals are split half and half.. Which hospital should I go to for removal and reconstruction? For those who had removal done, please, I beg you, share hospital information. I live in Gyeonggi-do. Is there any hospital that removes it properly and provides follow-up care?
