To be exact, it has been 9 days. I had it removed on 8/9.
It was removed after about 5 months. My friend and younger sibling both had surgery at a hospital where their surgeries went well, but only mine failed.
I did not want much height, but I had a slight hump, so I only wanted to remove that, but they said my nose was too low to shave it down, so we decided to cover the upper part with silicone to raise it.
The result was not pretty in shape either (high glabella and low nasal tip), the implant moved, the nasal tip was hard, and there was nothing I liked about the surgery. I went back almost once a month, and the doctor also admitted that the surgery had gone wrong, so we proceeded with removal surgery without much conflict. Honestly, I wanted to get it removed and receive a refund too, but the doctor had offered to do a revision surgery to lower the glabella and raise the nasal tip, and I was the one who said I could not endure it and wanted removal, so I did not bring up a refund.
But then again, because of human greed, if everything was removed, the hump would show.. and after spending money, going back to my original nose was scary too. So during the removal surgery, I told them I hoped the nasal dorsum would become flat.
In the end, it became a surgery somewhere between removal surgery and revision surgery. It is closer to revision surgery, I guess haha. I said I did not want to use ear cartilage either, and they said they might use buttock dermis, so I prepared and went in. I did not want to use buttock dermis either, and the doctor did not say much, but the nurses had me prepare for it.
In the end, I was flustered again and went into the operating room without saying everything I wanted to say. They said they would use light anesthesia, but while being anesthetized, I do not know why I felt so sad and scared, and I cried loudly, so they said they ended up putting me under deeper anesthesia.
The surgery, which they said would take about 2 hours, ended in 1 hour. I confirmed the silicone with my own eyes, but I could not confirm the septal cartilage.
From right after the surgery until now, the glabella has reduced, but the nasal tip has not suddenly become soft. It feels like there is a plate (support strut) inside the nasal tip, so even though the doctor said it was removed, part of me still cannot believe it. They say it only becomes flexible after 3 months pass, so for now I have decided to wait..
Fortunately, they did not touch my buttock or my ear. They said they used dermis? inside the nose. I do not know if that is possible, but since they said so, I am just thinking, oh, I see. The nasal hump is slightly visible to the naked eye, and I feel it more when I touch it.
The glabella did get lower, but I do not think it is as low as my original nose. I do not know if they put dermis in the glabella too, or if there is still swelling in the glabella, but it is soft and squishy.. the glabella.. it feels full of flesh...
What I dislike the most is the nasal tip. My original nasal tip was a sharp style, but right after surgery, and even after removal, it is round and rounded.. I really liked my nasal tip.. The fact that I lost my nasal tip is what makes me regret having surgery the most..
For now, the surgery is done, so I guess I have to wait.. This experience made me dislike plastic surgery, and made me dislike large hospitals even more...
