I was tired of living with glasses + contacts for 15 years, so I made up my mind!! and got SMILE LASIK, and now 3 years later my vision still hasn’t dropped haha First, I went for a consultation and got price information and additional guidance about serum/vitamin nutrition? things like that, but I hate complicated stuff, and I also hate my vision dropping again or relapsing, and above all I extremely hate long recovery times, so I added serum and nutrition to prevent vision deterioration!! I have a job where I look at the computer a lot, and at home I turn off all the lights and watch a lot of movies on a projector haha And when they told me not to wear contacts for 2 weeks, it was like a bolt from the blue.. but even though I’d been wearing contacts for 10 years, they said my corneal thickness allowed SMILE LASIK, so I just accepted it haha On the day of surgery, the exams took almost 3-4 hours ㅜㅜ It really felt like standing in line for a physical exam... You can’t look at your phone and you can’t sleep, so I really recommend downloading an audiobook or something in advance ㅜㅜ Someone who can chat with you on the phone is fine too haha Most of all, I think having surgery with someone else is the best!!! Next to me, friends came together, and I was a little jealous because they didn’t look bored ㅜㅜ And then when it’s time for surgery, a few people gather and take the elevator to the operating room, and that scene was kind of funny lol There was a bit of waiting even after going to the operating room, but the surgery itself takes less than 3 minutes! A lot of people say it’s scary, but I wasn’t scared. I was thinking about how to keep my gaze fixed because they told me the surgery goes well if you keep looking at one spot lol Once I went into the long-awaited operating room, I kept repeating in my head to keep my gaze fixed... just kind of zoning out? I stared blankly into space, and they complimented me, saying I was doing well during surgery haha Actually, they said the person before me had their pupils moving too much and needed reoperationㅜ Afterward, I took the subway home, and my eyes stung so badly!!!!!!!! F*cking.. It felt like forcing in a torn contact lens ㅜㅜㅜㅜ So I was going home while crying, and someone gave up their seat and told me not to cry, thank you ㅠㅠ When I got home, for about... 4-5 hours?.. I couldn’t watch TV or sleep and just kept tearing up.... Then after 5 hours they said I could sleep, so I slept, and what the heck, when I woke up I could see so clearly... I thought I had accidentally slept with my contacts in ㅜㅜ After that, I put in serum eye drops and artificial tears.. That was a bit bothersome, but I endured it thinking that after just 2 weeks I would find the light... The serum had to be refrigerated, so I was a bit reluctant to go out for long periods ㅜㅜ I managed it well like that, and now 3 years later, I’m living well with absolutely no vision deterioration and having found the light!!!! They said even if my vision does decline, my cornea is thick enough that I can have surgery one more time, so that gives me even more peace of mind ㅎㅅㅎ Check this part too when you get examined! You never know what can happen!! To anyone debating whether to get LASIK or not, please do it... I regret not doing it sooner... And no matter what, choose LASIK with fast recovery!!!!! Eyes are essentialㅜㅜ Don’t skimp on money!!
