Hello (:
When I was looking into rhinoplasty, I thought I would be posting a bragging review about how pretty it turned out after nose surgery, so it feels a little bitter to be writing a removal review instead. Still, posts in this community helped me a lot, so I am writing this hoping my review will be even a little helpful to everyone.
I had it removed after 4 months. Because my nose was low, I had 5 mm silicone inserted, a strut made with septal cartilage, and because my nose was uneven and needed balancing, I also had paranasal augmentation. I found out later, but should I call it the nasal tip? They had also put ear cartilage there.
After the nose implant removal, the version of myself reflected in the mirror looked like a witch. I had a nasal bridge, but it was not the look I wanted. The way I looked by chance in an elevator was truly devastating. As the first and second months passed, because the columella was fixed, it looked so awkward when I smiled. As time went by, I hated looking at myself more and more, and I spent each day just wishing time would pass quickly.
The doctor said it looked pretty and asked why I was doing this, saying it would be my own loss if I removed it, and told me to wait until 6 months.
Every single day felt like I was going crazy, and I wondered if I was being too hasty. One day I would pull myself together thinking, it is okay, it will get better, and another day I would sob out loud.
In the end, I felt my decision would not change even if I waited, so I set a date and got back on the operating table. During the consultation, they said I should not need revision surgery, told me to trust their hospital, and said they would make it natural, so I paid a large amount of money for it. Seeing myself back on the operating table felt pathetic.
I had everything completely removed. The doctor said it would be fine to leave the cartilage that had corrected the nasal asymmetry, but I was afraid that if I left it, I would later go back to remove it too, so I decided to remove everything.
During removal, there was a feeling of things being pulled out, so it was painful. I thought, I have brought this suffering on myself, and just hoped the surgery would end quickly. After removal, they showed me what had been taken out, and the most shocking thing was that what had been inside the paranasal area was silicone. I thought it was ear cartilage. It hurt every time I rubbed it, and I do not know if that was because of the silicone;;
The surgery took about 1 hour, and because they did not show me my face right after surgery, I came to the recovery room, braced myself, and looked in the mirror. The columella was straight, and the nostrils had become larger.
Before removal, I thought, it will probably be better than the operated look, and even if I get a pig-like upturned nose, it is okay, but it is true that I was scared.
After removing the splint and the cotton inside my nose, I looked at my face, and fortunately my nose was less upturned than I had expected.
It is sad that I have to brace myself every time I look in the mirror, but I still think it was a better choice than continuing to agonize over whether to remove it or not.
What I learned through this rhinoplasty is that I should love myself. Honestly, I thought that if I had rhinoplasty, I would become pretty like a celebrity and everything would be enjoyable, but nothing really changed. And these days people think cosmetic surgery is no big deal and everyone does it, but they can say that because it is not happening to them. After rhinoplasty, I resented the people around me a lot too. But I think there is no need to blame others because it was entirely my decision.
It is true that right now I am very worried that my nose might become bigger because of scar tissue or become upturned because of contracture. Still, I hope I can get through this well while sharing information with everyone here.''
I rambled on, so this got long;;; I hope everyone stays strong. Thank you.
