I had surgery at the end of May 2023, so now it's almost been 2 years. It was my first surgery, and at the time I didn't even know about this community. The only places I used to look for information were plastic surgery cafes that came up when I searched on Naver. Considering I had surgery without really looking up proper information, I'm quite satisfied, so I'm leaving a record. The nose I wanted - Correction of a bulbous nose - An overall slim-looking shape without a thick feel - I hoped the nasal tip would not droop Back then I only went to exactly three rhinoplasty consultations, but even though I went without knowing much detailed information, one thing I could distinguish was that I should definitely avoid: - Factory-style clinics - Places that forcibly hold you during consultation and pressure you into surgery - Places without clear postoperative handling for AS/follow-up care So I ruled out the large clinic I went to first for consultation. (Even I, who barely had any information, could feel it was factory-style;) For the area, I mostly went around Gangnam to Sinnonhyeon. Some places had consultation fees and some didn't. At first I was unhappy, thinking, “Why charge a consultation fee right away when I'm not even necessarily going to have surgery here?” But after having surgery, as I started looking into and considering other procedures too, I thought of it as my consultation fee = medical consultation fee anyway. There are places that take a consultation fee but still don't consult properly or only take a cursory look, so I didn't need to judge based on that alone. Reasons I chose the hospital - The director's aesthetic sense matched well with mine - The doctor was full of confidence (I preferred places with strong pride in their own surgery). It was a place that confidently said the nose material recommendation would clearly improve things if done this way, rather than speaking ambiguously - A place that is conservative when choosing nasal materials Honestly, reasons 1 and 3 were a big part of why I decided on that clinic and had surgery there. I think you can understand reason 1 without much explanation. For reason 3, even if someone is very confident in their surgery, if they push a nasal material I don't want or recommend something without a clear reason, I thought it wasn't a good match for me. If, like me, you don't have enough septal cartilage and need costal cartilage? > I was drawn to places that explained donated costal cartilage and autologous costal cartilage in detail and left the choice somewhat up to me. Rhinoplasty materials - Silicone (4 mm) - I also had autologous costal cartilage and bulbous nose correction Before, my nasal tip was extremely blunt, but it became smaller like it had been reduced with a photo-editing app. Maybe because the director's aesthetic matched mine well, the nose shape also turned out the way I wanted. Think of it as not pointy, but moderately rounded and sharp/high-looking? It was so long ago that I don't remember what the pain was like, but since it didn't leave much of an impression, I don't think it was very painful... For a few months, they said I had to be careful about bumping my nose and exercising, so I think I was just careful about that. Now I've also had my eyes done and keep looking into various other surgeries ^^ Honestly, cosmetic surgery is also a bottomless pit... As long as I joined this community and keep looking here, I feel like I'll keep doing this... But I don't regret it. Getting surgery moderately, within an appropriate line, is the best.
