Almost 9 Years Into Orthodontic Treatment

I’m currently in my 9th year of orthodontic treatment haha I remember going while holding my parents’ hands when I was young... At the time, I had a bit of malocclusion, so my upper teeth protruded somewhat severely. Especially the two front teeth were spaced apart, like rabbit teeth.. Because I did it when I was young, I don’t remember everything well, but at first it was really painful. If my teeth accidentally hit food, I would be rolling around in pain all day. I still wear a retainer. I think I wore the removable retainer until 2 years after orthodontic treatment. Now I only have the wire retainer behind my teeth. I understand that this one pretty much lasts a lifetime ㅠㅜㅎ I wrote down a bit of information below that might be helpful. 1. For a child, correcting a not-too-severe malocclusion took about 2-3 years. After that, I wore a retainer for 2 years. 2. I was told the wire should be worn for as long as possible. 3. I think you need to take good care of your jaw. Since orthodontic treatment, my jaw has been clicking(?) a little. 4. The first 3 days after tightening the braces really hurt. It may vary by person... but I remember barely being able to eat anything hard at the time. 5. As I remember, there were regular, ceramic, and clear options, and they recommended ceramic as the best value for money, so that’s what I chose. I recommend deciding after consulting with your dentist. Everyone, have a safe and enjoyable orthodontic journey!
