Is it possible to remove ear cartilage from the columella and nasal tip? It's been a little over 1 year, and I'm thinking of removing it around next year.
I talked with a doctor at a large university hospital, but they kept telling me not to take it out, saying it would get worse, become bumpy, and the shape would look bad, and that it could be difficult because of adhesions. But on the other hand, I wondered, aren't they scaring the patient too much? What's funny about doctors is that before surgery, they say the surgery doesn't take long and you'll become prettier, but when you actually say you want removal, they say it's dangerous and can't be done. These words themselves are just absurd. They emphasize so much that it's dangerous, but then doesn't that mean having the surgery itself is dangerous too?
I really know quite a lot of information too, so I ended up arguing with the doctor..
They kept saying that if adhesions form, it can't be removed, so I asked, what if inflammation occurs? Then they said they would remove it. So I said it would be better to remove it before inflammation occurs, and then that means it can be removed, right? When I said that, they said it can be removed.
The doctor said it can be removed later too, so I should think about it more, and that the shape is fine.
They seemed to want to focus on the shape. It was so frustrating.
I had pain in my nose, and I also bump my nose a lot, so there are so many issues: swelling, discomfort, it's too pointy, and just one or two things are not the problem. After the ear cartilage surgery, I'm also complaining of various discomforts like side effects, skin problems, and sagging behind the ear.
I said I don't care if my nose becomes bumpy or lower, because removing my nose materials doesn't mean my original nose disappears, so I don't care about those things and only want removal.
I only want removal, but I absolutely don't understand why they are so reluctant to do it.
They said it might not be possible now because of adhesions, so when I asked if it wouldn't be more adhered if I come next year, they said adhesions gradually loosen. They keep changing what they say. Anyway, I know everything that can be removed can be removed, and they said removal is possible but a bit difficult. I know removal is easier than nose surgery, but they kept talking negatively as if they really didn't want to do it, so I was just dumbfounded.
For those who want removal like me but are scared and frightened so you're hesitating, please don't believe everything doctors say too much.
Doctors are only making predictions too; it doesn't necessarily mean it will become reality. The reason they scare you is because such cases have existed, but side effects are not common, so if you're determined to remove it, I think it's right to remove it even right away.
And if removal were really as dangerous as doctors say, there wouldn't be successful cases like this.
Nose surgery is a surgery done to become prettier or to cover a complex, not a surgery meant to ruin someone's life.
Rather than living with discomfort, pain, swelling, deformation, asymmetry, visibility through the skin, skin issues, silicone deviation, contracture, inflammation, and the anxiety of not knowing when problems may come after nose surgery, I think it would be better to live with my comfortable own nose, even if it looks a little less attractive.
