I had surgery on my nasal bridge, nasal tip, and nasolabial angle 12 years ago. As I’ve gotten older, my face has sagged overall and my facial asymmetry has become worse, so I started feeling like my nose looked very crooked. Even after the surgery, I had always disliked the feeling that my nose looked upturned. And for the nasolabial angle surgery I had 12 years ago, silicone was inserted. When I smile, a straight horizontal crease forms across the middle of my philtrum. So while adjusting the incorrect nasal tip, I looked for a hospital that could redo the nasolabial angle surgery that had been done with silicone and received consultations. One place was ㅇㄷ and the other was ㄴㅈㄹ. At ㅇㄷ, they said rib cartilage would need to be used for the nasal tip, and to get rid of the upturned feeling of the nasal tip, I would need surgery to raise the alar rim together with implant-free nasolabial angle correction. The cost was about 8 million won (on the condition of being a partial model). At ㄴㅈㄹ, they explained that since my nasal bridge is not on the low side, they would remove the silicone, slightly lower only the nasal tip by adding ear cartilage to the existing septal cartilage, and if the silicone were removed from the place where the nasolabial angle was, they would perform philtrum reduction and roll in the skin that was cut out into the hollowed area. But at ㄴㅈㄹ, the consultant later honestly told me that my nose didn’t seem to need surgery. The asymmetry or crookedness was not very noticeable, so she thought just a philtrum reduction might be enough. So I couldn’t get a quote for nose surgery. I’m still thinking a lot about what I should do. For now, whether I do it at ㅇㄷ or ㄴㅈㄹ, I’m definitely planning to do philtrum reduction together.
