Facial Surgery Reviews@face-review

Review of consultation visits for facial contouring (SSY, MYDY)

I wanted a short face with a Jennie vibe, so I went in for a facial contouring consultation. There are two places, and honestly, besides these two I was only considering adding one more consultation at ㅇㅇㅊ... so I’m thinking of doing one or two more consultations over the next week or two, then comparing places that can give me the design I want with as few side effects as possible before making my final decision!

1. ㅅㅅㅇ I went there because it was recommended by an acquaintance! I was almost the first appointment in the morning, and there were foreign surgical patients from Thailand and Japan, so I thought, oh, they really do get a lot of patients from overseas. The consultation manager also had a slight Japanese-Korean vibe? Or maybe someone who is Japanese and speaks Korean really well? That kind of tone! They explained things so gently that I felt good from the morning.

First of all, the hospital facilities seem really good, and they took CT scans in quite a few different ways? The place I visited after just did one quick scan, and when I had braces before I think they scanned me twice, but ㅅㅅㅇ did it in three ways! One was a scan while rotating around the face in a circle, one was with something in my mouth, and one was a frontal standing scan??? Anyway, something like that!

After the CT, I did a preliminary consultation with the manager while looking at the photos, and while talking through the photos and various things, they checked the parts I wanted changed. When I said I thought I had asymmetry, they explained that if you place a skull on top of a curved stick in a CT image, of course it’ll look crooked (that wasn’t the exact wording; they were very gentle, but sorry, I’m like an old lady and my memory is bad, lololol). Anyway, they explained the cause and pointed out that it was a posture issue, so I was like, oh, I see? I understood right away! I decided I should start Pilates or PT.

Anyway, setting that aside, they measured things like the jaw angle, and after waiting a bit, the director came into the room too and continued the consultation!

They focused on the parts I didn’t like (the parts I wanted fixed), and I said I wanted my face to look smaller, hehe, and that I liked a slightly square jaw. That was about all I said, but when I thought about it later, I realized I forgot to mention the most important part, so after coming home I felt a bit disappointed and am thinking of calling again!

Anyway, in the director’s words: my cheekbones are relatively thin, so they can add about 4 mm... To run a business you need enough capital, but I don’t have much capital, so they said they can do the maximum possible with all available resources so the width looks reduced. For the jaw, the bone itself wasn’t angular; rather, what I was worried about, according to the CT, was... fat and muscle, haha. So they recommended submental liposuction! They explained things really well and in an easy-to-understand way, almost like a professor, which I liked. Though honestly, I did think it would have been even better if they had been a little more blunt and just said clearly, do this, don’t do that, you know? lolololol My acquaintance, who is a plastic surgery specialist, once got asked whether plastic surgery could make you really good-looking, and said, hey, if plastic surgery could make everyone super handsome or beautiful, then everyone on the street would’ve done it already... that had them cracking up. Anyway, I think a more direct style like that would have suited me better! But anyway, the best part was that they didn’t recommend excessive surgery, they were honest about the expected effects, and they gave quite a long and careful consultation!

And I had vaguely assumed the price would be very high (because the person who introduced me had excellent credentials, the hospital building was also nice, and overall it had a somewhat premium feel to me), but the estimate was more reasonable than I expected! Cheekbone type 1 + submental liposuction / with three review-event discounts, the estimate was in the mid-3 million won range! One week before surgery, I’d come to the hospital for two tests / same-day discharge after surgery (for cheekbone + lipo only) was possible / three post-op care sessions were free / the surgery date was still available for the schedule I wanted, but if I wanted to fix the date, a 500,000 won deposit was needed!

+ After the director consultation, the manager finished the estimate consultation, and when I asked what the estimate would be if I added the jaw too, I was quoted 7.7 million won in the high-7 million range for the two above (cheekbone + submental liposuction) + invisible (I think this is a square-jaw surgery that gently refines the chin; I plan to ask again about this) + cortical bone + masseter reduction!

2. ㅁㅇㄷㅇ I had planned to visit here later after watching YouTube interviews with the director because they seemed trustworthy! The same was true for ㅅㅇㅇ, but when I searched the community, the reviews were good without any scandal, so I made an appointment and visited!

Ah, for both ㅅㅅㅇ and ㅁㅇㄷㅇ, it took two months from the phone call to the consultation! I initially told them I could only do weekends because of work.

Anyway, after checking in, the CT process was the same: one scan, then they put on a headband and took one photo from each angle, and after waiting I went into the manager consultation!

The manager was kind of cool and could understand even if I explained things in a totally clumsy way lolololol If I had done the ㅁㅇㄷㅇ consultation and then gone to ㅅㅅㅇ, I think I would have been able to get a better consultation there... And they seem really good at sales... when I kept saying I liked a really small lower face, the director immediately said that my style is their type of face and that we’d probably match well in consultation... the two of them were laughing and chatting in a really cheerful mood.

After the manager consultation, I waited a bit longer and then went in to see the director. Before I even went in, I could hear the director laughing loudly from the waiting room and even from outside lolololol So I was like, ah... the director must really love their job... this is truly their calling... but once I went in, I ended up laughing even louder than they did ㅜㅜ lololol They asked while covering the cheekbones and jaw, “This is important, this is important,” and when I said the jaw area was what mattered to me, they immediately showed me case photos and asked, “How about this much?” When I said, “Oh... that’s nice,” they said, “See? I just had a feeling it would be like that,” which was so spot-on that I laughed in total agreement lol My lower face is apparently very... short? (I didn’t even know that) Anyway, the conclusion was metal-free chin + chin liposuction, and that was that. Judge Pao Chenghuang stuff, cool guy. And when I said I was disappointed about the cheekbones... the director said: your head shape is big. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ So I burst out laughing and said yes, I take after my dad, and the director showed me by drawing lines on the CT that there’s almost no space next to my ears! I like a short face shape, but they said if I add volume to the cheekbones, my face could look longer, and talked about projection and such... anyway, I’m fuzzy on the details because I’m an old lady... Anyway, when I asked, “Then what about buccal fat lipo...” they said if I do it, my smile could become unnatural, so nope ㅋ Cool guy, good.

Anyway, I left after a fun consultation, and then discussed the estimate with the manager. Metal-free chin + submental liposuction / with review-event discounts at two places, 7.7 million won / the surgery date was still available for my preferred schedule, and to lock the date there was a 700,000 won deposit, or 200,000 won if I didn’t want to lock it / three rounds of aftercare were free / of the two pre-op tests, one had to be done at another internal medicine clinic and the results sent over!

Anyway, both places were fine to me, so I feel like I wouldn’t regret having surgery at either place? That was good! But the two doctors explained the surgical direction differently, so I’m going to think about it more, look into more reviews, and ask the managers or doctors whatever else I need to ask before making my final decision!!!
