Review of a Facelift in a Man in His 20s

First, I don’t know if my previous post can be searched, but in 2019 I wrote a post saying that after getting cheekbone surgery and managing it, I was so bothered by sagging that I was looking into a facelift. If you’re curious about the earlier story, take a look.

In the end, after thinking about it and going to consultations at several places, I got a facelift two months ago. A lot of people say things like, “Why a facelift in your 20s?” but to state the conclusion first, I’m extremely satisfied right now.

I originally had a lot of fat in my cheeks, so I also had facial liposuction, and my cheekbones were quite severe, so after pushing them in and shaving them down a lot, even with good sagging management, I couldn’t prevent the sagging. So from the start I just thought, I should take care of my appearance while I’m young anyway; what’s the point of waiting until my 30s or 40s to get a facelift? Of course, that’s my subjective values haha. Anyway, that’s why I went around to different consultations and ended up getting a facelift in my mid-to-late 20s at the place I trusted the most.

When I had facial contouring, it hurt like crazy and was really hard, but the facelift wasn’t like that. For almost 2-3 weeks I had to keep wearing the compression band, so that was uncomfortable, but it wasn’t extremely painful or causing vomiting or anything like that. For the first few days, I couldn’t open my mouth well, so I only ate porridge, but thinking I’d lose weight made me eat it in a good mood lol.

As for swelling, the minor swelling still hasn’t all gone down, and the major swelling seems almost all gone. But regardless of the swelling, even on days 2 and 3 when I was swollen tight, the sagging cheeks that had stressed me out so much were no longer visible, and I could see that they had been pulled upward. So even when my face was puffed up and looked like a moon, I seriously thought I’d rather live with this face than live with a sagging face, and I thought I did really well getting the surgery. Of course, part of it is that I hated my sagging cheeks that much.

Anyway, now that about two months have passed, the swelling keeps going down day by day, and my satisfaction is increasing every day. I hated my sagging cheeks so, so, so, so, so much that I strictly avoided smoking, alcohol, and exercise for a full month so the surgery could work well. It’s the first time I’ve ever kept those rules while getting plastic surgery, so maybe that’s also why…

What’s unfortunate is that there’s this ridiculous myth that a facelift is a surgery you can only do once in your lifetime, but that’s just a false rumor. Maybe because of talk like that, there don’t seem to be many facelift reviews from people in their 20s, regardless of gender, so I tried writing one. I feel like I may have rambled, but if you’re curious about anything else, leave a comment and I’ll answer. Thanks for reading haha.
