Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

7 days after silicone removal

Silicone removal (closed approach)

It’s been one week since removal. I removed the tape on day 5. Since it was a closed approach, there are still stitches inside my nose. (Because I live far from the hospital, they used dissolvable stitches.) The swelling has gone down a lot. The sunken area between my eyes used to sink in when I pressed it while swollen, but now when I press it, it’s bone right away. In the photo, there is a yellow bruise on the nasal dorsum, but if I cover it with makeup, it doesn’t show.

There is no pain when I stay still, and when I press the nasal tip, except near the surgical area, there is nowhere painful.

Since the nasal tip is originally my own nose, I don’t think there will be major changes from here (my feeling), so I’ll leave reviews only up to the one-week mark.

As you can tell from the before photos, the silicone was crooked, and slightly above the nasal tip, the silicone showed through in a U-shape, so I removed it. (The translucency doesn’t show well in the photo.)

In the early period after surgery, it wasn’t crooked or showing through like that, and it looked pretty, but after 6 years passed, the more time went by, the more noticeable the translucency and crookedness became. Just because the initial surgery went well doesn’t mean it lasts a lifetime ㄷㄷ Back then, I never imagined removal surgery..

After surgery, I’m so happy that the crooked silicone is gone and that the silicone no longer shows through above the nasal tip when I stretch my philtrum or smile. On cold days, my nose would turn red and the silicone area would get cold, making my nose sting, but without the silicone, that area in particular no longer gets especially cold or redㅠㅠ♡♡ (I think some people will relate in winter.)

Because it was a closed approach, my nostril sizes are slightly uneven, and the operated side is slightly lifted? bent? but I believe it will come down as the stitches disappear and I recover. (Please, please!!)

I will never have nose surgery again, and unless someone around me has a nose that is truly severely abnormal, I plan to strongly oppose surgery. Really, the nose is not something to touchㅠㅠ Let’s love our own noses...

I hope everyone planning removal has a successful surgery, and if anyone is thinking of nose surgery, please really think again. Seriously...ㅠ
