I’m currently 30 years old in full years, and I had LASEK surgery during my second year of university. I went in with an acquaintance discount, so I think the cost was less than 900,000 won. (It was the price from 10 years ago..) It was a large factory-style clinic, but now that it has been a full 10 years, I’m leaving a review. [Pros] - My original vision was around -6? so it was quite bad. After correction, it’s above 1.0, and I can see well! It has now been about 10 full years, and both eyes are still maintaining vision above 1.0. [Cons] - Dry eye syndrome: I was originally on the dry side, so in winter I used to get a hazy vision phenomenon. But as time passed, it does seem to have gone away to some extent. I remember there were various options that could be added for prevention (serum, etc..). If I could go back, I think I’d add all the options, even if just in case. For eye fatigue, I wear blue-light-blocking glasses while working. - Cannot wear contact lenses: They say you can’t wear lenses, but for me vision correction was the priority, so it didn’t matter at all. [Overall] The most important thing seems to be: would I do it again? and whether I can recommend it. Personally, I’m very satisfied, so I have recommended it to my family as well. I don’t think I could go back to wearing glasses. I hear that recently, besides LASEK, other good methods have come out too, so I recommend looking into several places and not considering only the cost, but finding a place with the best possible aftercare! Eyes are hard to restore if they are damaged after surgery.
