I started in the winter of my first year of high school, and I think it took about a year and a half in total (took them off in senior year) Every time I went to the dental clinic, they tightened the wire, and it hurt like hellㅠㅠ I had snaggle teeth on both sides, kind of like a Japanese person, so it was quite a struggle bringing both snaggle teeth down Right now, I’m living with a fixed orthodontic retainer attached to the inside of my teeth since after the braces The retainer isn’t particularly uncomfortable, so I think I’ll keep it attached for the time being After my orthodontic treatment ended, the dental clinic gave me a plastic+wire retainer and told me to wear it while sleeping at night, but I think I wore it to sleep once and almost never after that These days, a little over 2 years after finishing treatment, I got curious whether my teeth had shifted back, so I tried wearing the plastic retainer fitted right after treatment, and it seems they haven’t shifted much If anyone is thinking about orthodontics, just think of the pain you have to endure each month as period pain + orthodontic tooth pain ㅇㅇ They say teeth move faster when you do it young As someone who had double snaggle teeth, I’m very satisfied. If anyone around me is worried because their teeth are uneven, I’d recommend it!
