I had nose surgery earlier today.. it seemed to take close to 4 hours. I looked up a lot of reviews before going, but experiencing it myself... it was rough. I think I spent about an hour and a half in surgery while awake from the anesthesia. Just having to stay like that was hard, and even with anesthesia it hurt, so that was rough.. (just enough to make me tear up a little) My septum was bent almost as if it were lying flat, so they did osteotomy on the crooked side. The doctor said the degree of bending was the worst among all patients. They used a hammer and also filed it down, whew. For the bridge, they inserted 4 mm of silicone. I had consulted for a shape with a forehead-to-nose transition that wouldn’t look too obvious, but since it’s the day of surgery, it doesn’t look that way yet. I’ll need to watch the healing a bit more. Also, my nose was wide, so they didn’t do the nostrils and only worked on the tip. They said if they reduced the nostrils too, because my nose is on the long side, it would look even longer. But this too, the tip still looks blunt, so I can’t really tell.. It was also lifted up. I guess I’ll have to watch it over time.
Anyway, after a long time of thinking and deciding, I finally did it, but I don’t feel fully relieved. I’m worried, and it was harder than I expected, and I’m even more worried about what comes next. They said they’d leave the cotton in the osteotomy side in for longer, so I can’t breathe properly... and I’m still bleeding a little. I need to sleep now, but my mouth is dry and it’s miserable ㅠ
