As you can tell if you look at my previous posts.. there wasn’t a major problem with the shape of my nose after surgery, but the nasal tip show-through and protrusion from the silicone + cartilage were severe, and after several revision surgeries, I felt like it just wasn’t going to work, so I had everything completely removed. Ah, when I first had my nose surgery it was done closed (incision inside the nose), and the removal surgery was also done closed.
When removing it, they said the skin at the nasal tip was very stretched, so there was a risk of depression, and that it would probably be necessary to reinforce the nasal tip with autologous dermis, so I had total removal + autologous dermis for the nasal tip.
For the dermis, I debated a lot between Megaderm, AlloDerm, and autologous dermis, but I didn’t want to worry about inflammation anymore, so I just chose dermis from my armpit.
For autologous dermis, I also debated between the buttock and the armpit, but I thought the buttock would probably bother me when walking or exercising, so I just did armpit dermis~ The incision area in the armpit is bigger than I expected. I didn’t measure it with a ruler, but by eye it seems to be about 6-7 cm?
Um, and there are many people who just do local anesthesia, but I’m too much of a scaredy-cat to endure local anesthesia.. so I just paid the additional fee and had it done under sedation anesthesia.
As soon as I got there, I washed my face again, took before photos, changed clothes, removed my nose hairs, and had the surgery. They said removal is a simple surgery, so it ended in less than an hour.. (I don’t remember the exact time because I was under sedation anesthesia)
I had the splint removed yesterday, and I’m going to have the stitches removed tomorrow~~~~
They said I wouldn’t swell much after removal, but on days 2-3 I really lived like a monster.. even my eyes swelled, and my whole face was bruised blue. It was to the point where I didn’t even want to look in the mirror.. Hmm, but from day 3 the swelling started going down, and after removing the splint, the facial swelling has gone down a lot and the bruising is also fading a lot. Ah! As for the shape after removal.. the nasal tip is very bulky, but because of the characteristics of autologous dermis, even if they overdo it at first, it gets absorbed quickly, so I’m just planning to live with a bulky nose for 2-3 months.
For now, what surprised me most after removal was not only the shape, but the feel.. I thought, wow, a nose can be this soft. It still hurts when I make facial expressions, but it feels natural and there’s no foreign-body sensation, so I like itㅠㅠㅠ
My nose doesn’t feel heavy either.. it doesn’t turn into an arrow-shaped nose when I smile, and my overall impression looks much softer!!!!! If you’re thinking about removal, don’t hesitate and get it removed quickly!!
I’ll delete the photos after some time!
The photos are in order: silicone + cartilage, splint, after total removal (It’s not a booger. The foreign material visible inside the nose is stitches.)
* I deleted the photos~
