It had been 3–4 years since I had surgery for rhinitis, specifically septal deviation surgery, along with shaving down a hump and getting rhinoplasty. As of today, it has been one week since I had everything removed: 3 mm nasal silicone, a septal support graft, and the septal nasal tip graft. Today I had all the stitches, taping, and cotton packing removed. I was worried, but thankfully my nasal bridge wasn’t as uneven as I expected haha I think it’ll be okay as long as it settles well like this!! Seriously, after taking out everything that was inside my nose, my nose feels so light that it almost feels like I don’t have a nose haha I was worried because other people who had open surgery said the columella area often feels pinched and things like that, but the doctor stitched it well, so even after stitch removal, I think once the scabs fall off there won’t be any marks left! I went back to the director who did my first surgery and had the surgery done by him again. I had a total of 3 consultations, and he was concerned, saying my nose had turned out well so it was a shame to remove it, and that the pain might not be from the surgery. He did firmly cut me off before I finished speaking at times, but he still answered everything I asked. More than the director, I was really grateful to the consultant, who was so kind and replied to everything by KakaoTalk even when I kept asking questions. I heard that at other hospitals, when people go in for removal, they get treated poorly and the staff make it very obvious they dislike it, but thankfully that wasn’t my case. It’s a shame I didn’t tell them in advance, so I couldn’t see the silicone that came out of my noseㅠ
After removing all the taping and stitches (I had everything removed because I was scared due to pain I couldn’t identify), the director said that when he operated, there weren’t really any of the problems I had been worried about. Still, I’m happy because now I can live with peace of mind haha He said that unless a problem comes up, I just need to take good care of it and don’t need to come back haha Since the swelling hasn’t fully gone down yet, he said it will get a bit lower going forward and the nasal tip will also come down a bit more, so he said he had intentionally gathered it upward. I’m going to take care of it very carefully so the shape changes well from now on! I’ll post another update at week 2 too.
