Yesterday I went to the hospital with my husband and had 10-year-old silicone and ear cartilage removed. It was done under sleep anesthesia with a closed approach, and including recovery time it took about 1 hour and 30 minutes. There was no swelling and it didn't hurt either. Right now I have tape on. The Medpor or L-shaped silicone I had worried about weren't there.. But the silicone was much thicker and higher than expected, so the doctor was surprised too. He said the sense of loss might be big... From the consultation, I had repeatedly emphasized absolutely not to harvest additional autologous cartilage such as ear cartilage and not to do any additional procedures. I wanted removal because the silicone had shifted downward, lifting at the glabella and pushing all the way to the nasal tip, so the nasal tip had become thin, and the ear cartilage was showing through white and round and was almost about to protrudeㅜㅜ The director said that, given my psychological state, if there was a strut in the ear cartilage, he would remove that and take everything out, but I couldn't ask whether there had been a strut. Suddenly in the operating room he said that if the nasal tip was too thin or sunken, he would crush the removed ear cartilage and put it in. But if the amount of removed ear cartilage was too small, he couldn't put it in, so inside I was like, What does that mean? We never talked about this. I felt confused and worried as I fell asleep... Later after surgery, when he talked to me, he said he didn't do it. He said he didn't because it seemed like I didn't want anything put in. (Maybe I rambled during sleep anesthesia, saying please don't put anything in..) When he opened it, there was also slight inflammation, so he removed it. My original nose was small, low, round, and at least had a cute feel... Now I'll be living with a third kind of noseㅠ The silicone was also so thick that I think my glabella will become sunken and uneven... For now, I feel relieved.. Since I'm a mother with a baby, deciding on revision surgery is hard too, so I think I'll just try to adapt and live with it.. In the photo, that's the removed silicone. The black spot on the silicone is probably inflammation, right? If the sense of loss is really big, I'm thinking of getting dissolving fillerㅠ Also, if there was silicone inflammation, then if silicone is inserted again, there would be a possibility of inflammation, right? Even though 10 years had passed, it was only silicone and ear cartilage, so removal seemed easy..
