2-week review of long-curve square jaw + rounded chin surgery

The above is my day-2 review lol

As of today, it’s day 16 Before surgery I caught a cold, and on the day of surgery I was on my period, so I wore a tampon, and I smoked until the day before lol Honestly, my condition wasn’t good, but I think I’m recovering pretty fast I’m in my late 20s, so I’m not that young. I usually work out a bit, so maybe that’s why. I think your usual physical condition is the most important. It seems good to exercise consistently before surgery!

Until day 3, my bandage was wrapped tightly, and before removing the bandage I had taping + compression 24 hours a day for the whole week. The swelling was bad, so my eyes looked like they were drooping.. (sanpaku eyes?)

Day 4 - I walked for 30 minutes but got tired and came back in. Swelling was the same as yesterday.. ㅜ I didn’t sleep sitting up, and slept with two pillows stacked!! So happy I could finally stretch my legs out and sleep..

Day 5: The hospital removed the taping and I got healing laser treatment! At this point I walked for 1 hour. My eyes were no longer sanpaku. My face looked like I had gained a ton of weight

Day 7: Went to work - if I wore a mask, people didn’t know (if I said it was wisdom tooth swelling, they believed it / but female coworkers asked what I had done). Since my lower lip wouldn’t move, I couldn’t smile. My speech was slightly slurred. After work, I deliberately walked a detour home for an hour and a half I only wore the compression band at night while sleeping (the hospital told me to wear it 24 hours, but I couldn’t when I was at work) I kept doing warm compresses with heat packs!

Day 10 - The swelling went down a lot, so the lip swelling also went down a lot. Now it has moved down between under my chin and my neck like a double chin. Got disinfection and healing laser treatment at the hospital. Ate porridge for the first time instead of just drinking something

Day 12 - Cut up chicken and ate it lol A lot of sensation came back in my chin

Day 15 - Maybe because I finished 2 weeks’ worth of medication, I sometimes get a kind of tingling feeling in my chin. When my mouth opens a bit wide, I can feel the stitches and it hurts (my speech becomes slurred) Swelling like I’m holding candy in my mouth + double-chin swelling level. I can go around without a mask. From the front, it only looks like I’m holding candy in my mouth, and from the side, it looks like a double chin

Day 16 - Got the stitches removed and received a laser treatment said to reduce swelling. I screamed when they removed the stitches.. ㅜㅜ For the first time, I chewed and ate ciabatta instead of soft bread lol Maybe because I only did my jaw, the swelling wasn’t severe. Even with swelling, my current line is completely different, so I’m very satisfied with the surgery. I keep thinking I should have done it earlier! lol Anyway, I’ll have to keep watching it thoughㅠㅠ

Things I made sure to keep doing 1. Wearing the compression band when sleeping / sleeping with two pillows stacked 2. Warm compress as soon as I got home (with a heat pack) 4. Gargling at least 4 times a day 5. Drinking pumpkin juice with every meal
