Hello, everyone. After writing my post, I saw that more people than I expected read it and left comments, and I realized that there are truly many people going through the same pain as me. And I thought you might be curious whether the contracture has gotten worse, so I’m leaving a review now that it has been a little over a month^^ <Changes in nose shape> As I mentioned in my first review, I had 3.5 mm removed. And my natural nose really was a low nose with almost no bridge. But now, after a month, it is slightly lower than my operated nose, but still higher than my natural nose. It has been maintaining that shape. Around the one-month mark, I asked my doctor, and they said it was something like callus tissue? Anyway, I’m not sure what it is, but even when I touch it, I can feel that a firm nasal bridge has formed.
<Daily life> Before the surgery, what I was really worried about was that if I removed this and went outside, everyone would notice and I would look ugly, so I was very scared. But more than I expected, whether my friends and coworkers just weren’t interested in my nose or not, no one noticed. But in my opinion, until about day 4 after removal, the swelling makes the bridge and nasal tip look thick, and since makeup and washing your face are difficult until the stitches are removed, if you go back to work or school around day 8, I think people probably won’t notice haha Before surgery, I even worried about whether I should take a leave of absenceㅜㅜ But it doesn’t change as much as you imagine, so everyone, please don’t worry too much..
<Contracture> When removing silicone because of contracture, different clinics said all kinds of things, like if I removed it as is, it would turn up even more, or I wouldn’t be able to have a social life. So I was also very scared, and there weren’t many reviews from people who had removal after contracture, so I thought, what if it really turns up laterㅜㅜ Then at that time I’ll have to do fillers or revision surgery, and I went ahead with the removal. Fortunately, the nasal tip that had turned up came down a little after removal, and when I look in the mirror, a lot of the strange-looking appearance is gone. Even when I went on a trip, I no longer had that version of myself who didn’t want to take pictures and felt withdrawn because of my upturned nose haha It has only been a month, so I can’t say for sure, but I sincerely hope it doesn’t turn up any more..
Postoperative progress can vary from person to person, so please only use my review as a reference.. For people with contracture, if you simply remove it, everyone says it will turn up, and silicone is said to be the cause of the side effects, so that’s not an option.. Gore-Tex also has side effects, autologous dermis gets absorbed and can become bumpy, and hearing all these different things, I went through a hard time not knowing what choice to make. With each doctor saying different things about whether it should be revision surgery or removal, even I couldn’t figure out what direction to takeㅜㅜ In conclusion, I removed it now, and I think it was a really good choice. When I was suffering and wondering why this happened only to me when everyone else seems to live fine after nose surgery, I received a lot of comfort from posts and comments in this community. I hope this helps those who, at this moment, are struggling like I did in the pastㅜㅜ The number of times I come into this community, which used to be a dozen times a day, and the number of times I think only about my nose every day have gone down a lot. So I think this will probably be my last review. I was embarrassed about my first review too and tried to delete the photos, and I don’t know when I’ll delete this post either, but.. I hope everything works out well for everyone reading this. Be happy~
