Hello I debated a lot about whether to post a review, but I received so much help from this community, and many comments that boosted my self-esteem, so I decided to post a review.
Surgical materials: About 3 years ago, at an ENT clinic in Gangnam, I had my hump shaved down, then my nose was built up with 2 mm silicone and septal cartilage.
Reason for removal: Starting 4 months after my first surgery, whenever I was tired or stressed, I kept having inflammatory reactions such as swelling along the nasal bridge. Maybe because of that, the silicone implant in my nasal bridge shifted to the left, and over time it became very severe, reaching the left glabella area. Because of that, I first started going around looking for a hospital for removal, and in the process I found out that contracture had developed...ㅠㅠ After that, I quickly decided to have it removed. But I had so many important plans overlappingㅠㅠ so in the end, I scheduled the surgery for two months later.
Hospitals I visited for removal consultations: I visited 5 hospitals, including the place where I had my first surgery (ㄱㅇㅅ, ㅇㅅㅅㅇㅌ, ㅌㅁ, the place where I had surgery, ㅍㄹㅁ). I hesitated between two hospitals, but in the end I chose one of the 5 hospitals and booked the surgery. The reasons I chose it were that they strongly reassured me that my nose would not become upturned after silicone removal, and also because the consultant was very kind, kept checking on me through the hospital’s KakaoTalk, and I liked how they managed my care.
Day of surgery: Maybe because I went in extremely nervous, I ended up crying during my final consultation with the directorㅠㅠ I was so anxious and scaredㅠㅠ Thankfully, the director comforted me well, and the nurse also treated me kindly and told me not to be too nervous. During surgery, the local anesthesia...5 shots? 4 shots were...really insanely painful... During the surgery itself, I only felt sensations like when having a wisdom tooth removed, and apart from the anesthetic injections, it did not hurt more severely.
After surgery: From the day after surgery, swelling started around my eyes, and my double eyelids disappeared completely. I was severely swollen until day 2. From day 4 after removal, after the splint was taken off, a lot of the swelling went down, and to reduce the swelling quickly, I took walks and drank pumpkin juice frequently. Just like everyone here said, I think walking is the best for reducing swelling! Ah, pumpkin juice also helped me. After having the stitches removed, washing my face, and putting on makeup, I definitely feel like I have returned a lot to my previous appearance.
I am now on day 8 after removal. It still feels like it has only been a very short time, so I am not sure if it is right to post this so earlyㅠㅠ but I will delete the photos tomorrow~! To describe it in words first, compared with my previous nose, it has really come down a lotㅠㅠ My mom and I almost criedㅠㅠ The crooked nose that had reached all the way to the glabella from the front view has also improved a lotㅎㅎ I was scared that my nasal bridge would be bumpy because I had my hump shaved, but thankfully there does not seem to be any major problem^^
Because I had both contracture and a shaved hump noseㅠㅠ honestly, I worried so much before removal. But what I can say is, do not worry too much, look into hospitals carefully, and if you choose a removal hospital well, you will definitely have good results!
I am going to be careful until the one-month mark, wait for it to heal well, and pray that it does not become more upturnedㅠㅠ I hope I can share good progress with you at the one-month mark too!
Stay strong~!
