Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

Day 1 After Early Removal

Yesterday, on day 27 after my first surgery, I had my septal cartilage, ear cartilage, and silicone removed, and today I went back to have the cotton removed. I had everything removed, and it wasn't cartilage tying, but because I had septal extension, they removed as much as had been spread open and inserted, then tied it together. (I wonder if that makes sense..) It wasn't the commonly done cartilage tying. When I asked if it would make my nose look pinched, I think they said there is a separate kind of tying that causes that.

First of all, my nasal bridge is lower now, and my original nose was extremely low haha; Now that the silicone is out, I can see the skin has stretched. It also seems like it could be swelling.

The nasal tip and nasal alae are swollen, but the swelling has gone down compared with yesterday, so I'm satisfied even with this much.

I really hated that my columella had become longer, and it seems longer than my original columella? but ㅠ I feel like about 80% of it has come back, so I'm happy.

As for the nostril size, maybe because yesterday the nurse blocked only the right nostril with a large piece of cotton (when I took it out and checked, it was much bigger. I couldn't ask why), the right nostril is slightly bigger, but thankfully the difference has decreased compared with this morning.

I had my first surgery by open approach, and the removal was also done by open approach. For the scar on the columella, after removing the stitches in a week, I'm thinking of applying Dermax and Ulxra from week 2. Has anyone used them?

My nose did not turn up (about 5% more upturned than my natural nose?) They say that if it is upturned from the beginning, it doesn't come down well, but it is still too early to feel reassured, so from 4 days later I plan to manage it with warm compresses.

Anyway, since it's only day 1 after removal, there isn't anything I can say for certain yet. What is certain is that my nose feels lighter, stable, low, but now it suits my face perfectly.

For those considering early removal or total removal! I think you may feel anxious after reading all kinds of reviews. I was like that too. In my opinion, every doctor is different, and nose shape, skin characteristics, and recovery differences are all different. I don't think there is as much to worry about as you might think. (If my nose shape changes, I may take this backㅠㅠ I hope that doesn't happen ㅠㅠ)

I'll leave another review.

* For reference, I will not disclose the hospital. I had it done outside Seoul, and the removal was done at the same hospital, so I don't think it would be information that helps everyone.
