(*Post-surgery story → clinic story* *One-line summary: praise for the director* The very last photo is before surgery.)
While having those hellish cotton packs in for 4 days... I realized how precious the nose is. Breathing through my mouth, with all kinds of headaches, my throat felt like it was tearing no matter how much water I drank, and I ate by chewing one bite and then taking one breath... I kept waking up every 10 minutes because I felt suffocated. I worried hundreds of times, from “what will happen to my life if the surgery failed and I can’t breathe?” to “what if the silicone is crooked?” and “what if my nostrils are uneven?”... Wiping away flowing nosebleeds and discharge, I diligently searched everything from botched cases to early correction casesㅋㅋㅋ I hadn’t seen many reviews saying it hurt, but my nose throbbed, my ears throbbed even more, and there was a smell inside my nose, so I whined in a community asking if it was an early infection. When swelling made my nostrils look almost collapsed and distorted, my heart droppedㅋㅋ Then my eyes had bright red bruising, so the manager teased me asking if someone had hit meㅋㅋㅋ I was so swollen I couldn’t even open my eyes, and why did the yellow bruises around my jaw take so long to fade... Anyway, the columella looked like it protruded too much... Is this scar tissue?ㅠㅠ I kept thinking that...
When the stitches came out... I was nervous, but it didn’t hurt!! The director removed them personally. Usually assistants do that... I thought, I really chose the right clinic. But after removing the splint... honestly I was a little disappointed. It felt like a dragon nose? There was a big bulbous nose in the mirror. Even though they explained it was because of swelling and told me the order in which swelling goes down, honestly I was half in doubt. After spending so much time on communities, I stopped believing anythingㅇㅁ..
Anyway, after seeing the nose shape, I rushed to buy pumpkin juice and gulped it down, then used the taping method that’s characteristic of my clinic... Even though the splint was off, it wasn’t really off. I kept wearing tape so the swelling would go down..ㅎㅋ Every time I removed the tape, I saw the step-like swelling between my brows and realized how swollen I was.
And because I wasn’t fully confident about the silicone, I kept lifting my head and checking left-right symmetry in the mirror every day... Because the swelling was uneven, my nose looked crooked, so the director personally gave me an injection to reduce swelling... Then when I went home, my nose had become a perfect straight line, so I was moved and wailed in the direction of where the director was. That was the moment all my doubts about the clinic disappeared.
But then, when more swelling went down and the nasal tip swelling decreased... my alar wings started looking bigger and bigger. They were twice as big as right after the splint came off. I was so angry that day that I searched every plastic surgery community for “alar reduction minimal effect.” (Director, I’m sorry I was like this..) I dug through old photos to check the size of my alar wings, and thought, the director did say that if he reduced my alar wings too much given my facial proportions, my face would look wider and my mouth would look more protruded, so he would only reduce them a little... So this is what that meant. Around week 3 after surgery, there I was even looking into clinics for alar reduction... Looking at it now, the director is just a computer. He tailored my alar wings with proportions so accurate it was on the level of a human computer... He balanced the golden ratio of my face. In fact, he did reduce my alar wings a lot.. (I forgot how big my own alar wings used to be, not remembering my tadpole daysㅋㅋ) Now even when I smile, my nose doesn’t spread everywhereㅠㅠㅠㅠ At first my nostril shape was still round sideways, but that was all swelling.. Even the nostril shape is pretty. The director is just a textbook of virtue..
And... at first I was disappointed that the nasal tip was low. Some people may feel this from the photos, but it’s not a pointed nasal tip, and it’s closer to a natural nose than a dramatic one. Also, before surgery, I felt the director preferred straighter lines a bit more, so I was worried about that.. I said I preferred a semi-scooped line, but the director rejected it, saying that with my facial structure it would make my mouth look more protruded..ㅋ But as expected, the director is a human computer.. How can he understand an individual’s features so precisely? He’s really not human. He recreated me with a perfect straight-slightly-curved line that harmonizes with my face. Along with my mother, he is my second creator.. My original impression didn’t disappear; only my image changed in a refined, pretty, and good way.
A nose that is truly stunning in person. If only my skin were a little thickerㅠ and the silicone outline showed a little less (it looks a bit shinyㅋㅋ), it would be natural enough to insist it’s my natural nose.. (It’s not natural because there’s no effect!!!) It has little artificialness and looks refined.
Honestly, probably no one likes 100% of the before-and-after photos on a clinic website. I was the same. They’re definitely pretty, but it’s hard for them to be perfectly my taste, and there’s no guarantee my nose would turn out like that.. Especially because I had a bulbous nose... that bulbous nose people say surgery doesn’t work on..^^..... But! It came out just like the people who turned out well at that clinic... I don’t mean the clinic style is uniform; it feels more accurate to say the line is guaranteed. They consider each person’s facial characteristics and create the best line within what is possible. My nasal tip came out a little low because my skin simply wouldn’t stretch more ^^;; Ah, writing this makes me want to bow again toward where the director is..
His aesthetic sense was top-tier, but his skill was also top-tier. Even after my nasal packing was removed, the number of times my nose was blocked can be counted on one hand.. Usually, because of swelling, the inside of the nose also swells and people still can’t breathe even after the packing is removed.. Since the director performs surgery so quickly, there is little bleeding, so maybe that’s why there is less swelling. Functionally, there are no issues at all. Rather, before surgery my septum was deviated and one side of my nose would periodically get blocked, but now that doesn’t happen at all. The director said he would correct the deviated septum too, and maybe he really didㅋㅋ I truly have no choice but to praise himㅠㅠ It’s to the point where even if I slapped a passing ENT specialist, they couldn’t say anything..
And the clinic is kind too... The manager is kind too...^^ Even when I act a bit picky, they handle it well.. I’ve seen many cases where clinics become cold after surgery.. but they’re always kind and feel as familiar as an older neighborhood sister I grew up with since childhoodㅠㅠ Unlike commercial clinics, I don’t feel like they’re only trying to avoid lossesㅠㅠ. And if I get greedy saying I want to do this or that, I get scoldedㅋㅋㅋ A completely conscientious clinicㅠㅠㅠ They also emphasize responsibility as an authority and as medical professionals.. Whenever I go for checkups, I always see the director no matter what... Even things like disinfection are done by the director;;;; At mid-to-large clinics, unless there’s a special problem, it’s hard to even meet them. And swelling laser treatments are unlimited! I live far away so I can’t go oftenㅠㅠㅋㅋ
Other than that... Feeling estranged from my rock-hard nose, wondering if I’d have to live like this forever, that I couldn’t wash my face freely anymore or pick my noseㅠㅠ Every time I used my facial muscles, I felt there was something inside my nose.. But now the foreign-body sensation is gone!! My nose has become soft, but sensation around the alar wings still hasn’t returned much. I think that’s natural.. It feels like when it itches and I scratch it, I don’t feel anything, so the itch isn’t relieved. Scar tissue definitely formed a bit around the alar wings.. and the alar reduction scars still haven’t fully filled inㅠㅠㅋ That’s just my skin tendency, so what can I do? And the swelling isn’t all gone either. Apparently this period is actually when it looks prettier because it’s a bit plumperㅎㅎㅎ
Anyway, I’m proud to say my nose surgery was truly successful... I’m grateful to my past self for choosing this clinic.ㅠㅠㅋㅋ Once the surgery succeeded.. I really stopped coming into this communityㅠ.. The image that looked middle-aged because of my bulbous nose became refined, and my life just changed. I was going to do facial contouring and orthodontic treatment too, but my nose turned out so well that I dropped all of it.. I’ll go enjoy this pretty nose now.. I hope everyone becomes prettierㅠㅠ!
(* And also.. if anyone had surgery at the same clinicㅋㅋㅋ After surgery, the director shows you with a mirror, right.. It won’t come out exactly like that nose^^ It comes out prettier.)
(* Since I’m not a broker, it’s hard to give information one by one. Please look carefully through my posts for the clinic name ^^;;)
