I posted a week ago that I had complete removal (septal extension + silicone) done, and today I came back after having the tape and even the outer stitches removed.
First, I originally had surgery with septal cartilage and silicone about 4 years ago? And 6 months ago, the silicone was showing through, so I had revision surgery to replace only the silicone. But the silicone was placed even higher, so the implant showed again, and I hated how obvious and straight-line-looking it was, so I kept thinking about removal.
When I first went for a removal consultation, the doctor really tried to talk me out of it. He said he didn’t know how the shape would change after removal, and didn’t know whether the discomforts I kept mentioning would be resolved after removal. He said I might experience even greater stress because of the shape after removal. But I had been thinking only about removal for 6 months, so I decided to remove it. Even after deciding, I kept feeling anxious ㅜㅜ
I only had complete removal, and I was told they didn’t do anything like repositioning. My current state is just that my nose has spread out and become lower.. I think it is exactly as those words describeㅋㅋㅋㅋ If the shape doesn’t change from here, I think I can tolerate it reasonably well. And there is still swelling, so my nose looks bulkyㅋㅋ The side profile, maybe because of the swelling, still seems tolerable for now. But the front view is really..ㅋㅋ I just hope only the swelling goes down and the shape doesn’t change much ㅜㅠ My nose hasn’t lifted either. Maybe because before surgery my nostrils didn’t show much.. I hope it passes like this without a contraction phaseㅎㅎ
Also, if removal is done without major problems, most people return to something similar to their original shape, but I don’t think doctors say that with certainty because there are always exceptions ㅜ I had it removed at the hospital where I originally had surgery, so they removed it without charging a separate removal fee.
