After struggling for almost a month, I finally got it removed today. I thought I’d feel relieved once it was actually removed.. But now that it’s removed, I’m so worried about what if my nose turns upward.. what if it gets more crooked... I had it done under sedation, and non-incision, removing only the silicone through one nostril. I left the septal cartilage at the nasal tip and the ear cartilage as they were. They said leaving those in place would at least make it less likely to curl upward even if contracture develops.. As for the visible cartilage shadowing, I’m going to leave it for now and consider removal around a year later, or if it gets worse.. In the middle of surgery, they intentionally woke me up from sedation, but maybe the anesthesia hadn’t fully taken, because it hurt so much that I was screaming and making a huge fuss. They put me right back to sleep.. -ㅁ-;; Apparently when I woke up, I bragged to the director who was finishing up that I bought a new padded jacket.. Ah, I was seriously embarrassed.. ㅎㅎㅎ He said while laughing that this level is okay..ㅎㅎ What do I do, it’s really embarrassing..ㅋㅋㅋ Anyway, after removal, they packed one side of my nose and put a splint on. There was inflammation, so they scraped some of it out, and they said it would hurt a bit because of that. It really aches and throbs..ㅠㅠ They said the medication is very strong oral medicine, so I have to make sure to eat all three meals properly.. Ah.. These are photos from before going into surgery today and right after coming out of surgery. I only removed the 3-4 mm silicone (the clinic where I had surgery had it recorded as 3 mm on the chart / but when I had a CT scan, it showed as 4 mm..;;). For now, it doesn’t look too sunken, but I’ll have to wait until the swelling goes down and the splint comes off..ㅠㅠ I had disinfectant all over and went around bare-faced, so ah, my acne-prone skin is also a mess..ㅠㅠ Because I developed inflammation, I took antibiotics and got injections for over 3 weeks.. You can see the round swelling on the bridge near the glabella, right..? That’s inflammation..ㅠㅠ Later it started to hurt. I really hope contracture doesn’t happen~~ㅠㅠ I’ll come back with photos after removing the splint~
