Hello, it’s already been 3 months since I had surgery at the oral and maxillofacial clinic~! After one month post-op passed, time started going by fast haha Before surgery, I was concerned about my protruding jaw and facial asymmetry, and now it’s been 3 months since I had double-jaw surgery + 2 types of facial contouring (square jaw, chin). A lot of the swelling has gone down, and I feel like everyday life is gradually getting more comfortable haha First of all, after surgery, I hear a lot that my lower face has become shorter and my face has become smaller. The swelling hasn’t all gone down yet, so my philtrum and smile still feel awkward, but I think people meeting me for the first time wouldn’t know I had surgery..!! I can open my mouth well now (3 and a half to 4 fingers), and I feel like sensation has almost returned, but sometimes the muscles under my lips feel tight, so I asked about it, and they said I should wait about 6 months and do mouth exercises and warm compresses often! For meals, I’m eating almost everything except foods that are too hard, but I’m in postoperative orthodontic treatment, so my molars don’t meet yet, and I’m cutting food up to eat Scissors are essential. Braces are much more uncomfortable than I thought, and eating outside is hard, so I want to get them off quickly.. After eating, I do feel tightness inside my mouth And I think I did get a double chin, but it doesn’t seem bothersome enough to be a big concern. There’s slight nasal widening (others say they can’t tell), and I developed snoring lolololol I knew about it before surgery, so it doesn’t bother me much I’m so satisfied with my side profile after surgery, and I’m diligently receiving orthodontic treatment too. Since more swelling will still go down, I’ll keep managing it well, and now I’m curious what I’ll look like at 6 months~!!
