Rather than a hospital that says everything is definitely possible, I compared places that proposed a few plans, and I checked whether the director seemed confident in his own surgery. *Consultation with the director He had a calm personality. He wasn’t especially high-energy, but he wasn’t subdued either. He calmly examined my nose, and said autologous dermis wasn’t recommended for the height and line I wanted, so he suggested proceeding with autologous costal cartilage. He said I would need general anesthesia because costal cartilage had to be harvested. Many places do it under sedation, but I thought this place really prioritizes safety. *Consultation with the consultant I thought, can there really be this little pressure to book? The order was consultant-director-consultant. When I first consulted with the consultant before seeing the director, she mainly listened to my opinions and explained overall how the surgery seemed likely to proceed. The consultant also said it would probably be difficult to make the line I wanted with autologous dermis. Anyway, during the final consultation, it felt like she summarized the director’s consultation for me.. She told me the price, and the treatment and follow-up schedule after surgery. It seems they don’t offer very large price discounts.. I had consultations at other hospitals after this, so when I said I’d go to those first, she let me go without any issue. *Overall consultation review I liked that the director had a lot of pride in his surgery and pointed out what was possible and impossible with surgery. I had surgery at a place that said everything was definitely possible, and when I complained because it didn’t work out, only then did they say my nose had limitations..^^ Also, there was no pressure to book on the day, and they didn’t haggle over the surgery cost, so it felt trustworthy. *Day of surgery I signed the surgical consent form, changed clothes, took photos, washed my face, and lay down on the operating table.. Even though it was a revision surgery, lying in the operating room made me feel needlessly cold and scared, so my body was shaking and I was nervous, and my pulse went up. But the nurses were really so kind that I could close my eyes feeling at ease... I think I went into surgery around lunchtime, but when I opened my eyes it was afternoon, and I don’t remember whether I walked groggily into the recovery room or whether they carried me there The first things I thought when I opened my eyes were that I wanted to sleep more and that my throat felt scratchy. *Days 1-2 Honestly, the area where the autologous costal cartilage was harvested felt sore? It hurt when I lay down and got up, but my nose didn’t hurt at all. But the swelling was severe, so even with a mask and hat on, it was obvious I had surgery And as expected, the cotton inside my nose was the most uncomfortable.. After removing the cotton and breathing through my nose, I guess I realized all over again how good it is to be able to breathe comfortably? Oh, and I had quite a few blood scabs, so they told me to disinfect and apply ointment well. I only paid a bit of attention to that, and I didn’t do separate swelling care. I tried not to lie down as much as possible, but habits are scary, because whenever I had time, I did end up lying down *One week Finally, the day to remove the splint and see my nose! Time felt like it was passing quickly but also not passing at all. As soon as it came off and I saw my nose.. This may not be the final result, but I already liked it.. Even though the swelling was severe, the part that had been my complex was gone! After surgery, I hadn’t done swelling care, but once the splint was removed, you know how you suddenly want the swelling to go down quickly? From then on, I started going for walks and doing warm compresses for no reason Since the weather is still cold, walking seemed to help with swelling! But if I ate late-night snacks, I was more swollen the next day, which was a bit troublesome The only extra cost besides surgery was getting the medication prescribed! It was just prescription medicine and disinfectant, and it’s better to take the medicine before it starts hurting. They said it takes about 30 minutes for the medicine to kick in. My nose didn’t hurt, but because of the pain where the costal cartilage was harvested, I carefully timed when to take the medicine. Still, I’m so relieved that recovery was faster than I feared.. I want the major swelling to go down soon so I can see the final result.
