Nose surgery review

I am just entering the one-month mark after my nose surgery. The first thing I want to say is that I regret it. I’m so upset that my nose is hard and that the shape is too pointy. Do not get nose surgery. If you really want to, only do minimal manipulation, like silicone and layering ear cartilage, around that level. The moment you do things like septal extension to lengthen a short nose, or put in a septal strut to lift a long, drooping nose, you are living with a hard nose. Before nose surgery I thought, so what if it’s hard, who cares, and what does it matter if I can’t make a pig nose, but it matters a lot. I started hating when anyone touches my nose, and when people look at me I wonder if my nose looks strange and develop this weird inferiority complex. If the shape came out well, maybe it wouldn’t matter. Still, the hardness and tight, stuffy feeling last for life. The shape does not last for life. If you think the hardness is only at the nasal tip, you are mistaken. It is fixed in place as if a nail has been driven into the philtrum area. Of course, there are probably many people who had techniques where this does not happen. For me, it is like this. If I could turn back time, the first thing I would say during consultation is: I don’t want anything fixed at my philtrum. I don’t want a hard nasal tip. Of course I’ll gradually get used to it. But still. I don’t want to live like this for the rest of my life. The nose I used to rub freely is gone, and all that’s left is a nose I have to treat like a precious object. I’m also considering removal because I’m scared, and the shape isn’t to my liking either, so it’s even more painful. Please be really careful. Even if you do it, only minimal manipulation! If the doctor says it will droop, it’s better for it to droop. At that point, open the other ear. A doctor who lets it droop lacks skill. And if you don’t like the shape and want removal to be easier, minimal manipulation is best. I’m only one month post-op, but how good would it have been if I had seen this before surgery. No one told me things like this. Make a wise choice!
