Around 2 years after I had rhinoplasty (osteotomy + silicone + lowering the columella), I realized very late that contracture had developed and visited a clinic at the end of last year. Without knowing whether there had been an inflammatory reaction, I missed the timing, and in the end, I had all of the silicone removed. There was fluid accumulated inside, so I kept going to the clinic from time to time to have it drained, and while occasionally receiving antibiotics, I waited for my nose to soften and come down. Fluid no longer accumulates, and the nasal tip also seems to have come down quite a bit, almost to what my nose was like before surgery. It is honestly strange to me too that I did not realize it even though the nasal tip had hardened and the nasal bridge had become crooked. It was difficult, but since my own lack of attention played a big role, it was not an issue where I could blame anyone. I think the time has now come when it would be okay to have revision surgery, but before that, I am thinking of looking around at more clinics. Since it has already taken a long time anyway, I also feel like, even if it takes longer, what more would I lose? And my first clinic was not an untrustworthy place, and the clinic where I had the removal surgery also provided good care, so I think it is not just a matter of trust, and I wondered whether simply researching more would help. If there is anyone who has information that might help, I sincerely ask in advance with an earnest heart!
This was my review after removal surgery.
