After behind-the-ear square jaw surgery (Week 1)

It feels strange that it hasn’t even been a week since I went to the hospital without sleeping because I was so nervous, but time goes disgustingly fast lol For those planning surgery or thinking about it, I think there may be things you’re curious about, so I’ll leave a review each week

- Week 1 - Day of surgery: I was nervous for about 5 seconds after getting on the operating table? I fell asleep regardless of my own consciousness, and when I opened my eyes, apparently I walked on my own feet to the inpatient room, which was about 10 steps away I wasn’t supposed to be admitted, just rest for a few hours and be discharged the same day, but when I heard I had to come back to the hospital the next day to remove a tube behind my ear? or do something, I said it was bothersome so I’ll pay the hospitalization fee haha;; and asked them to admit me for one day In a cozy room like a private room, I sat there half-asleep with the TV on, using my phone and focusing on coming to my senses! Once I came to, only then did I get curious about how I looked, so I looked in the mirror and was like, what? I look fine? For someone who had surgery, I had no bruising and no swelling, so I looked so normal that it seemed like no one would know even if I walked around outside as is Days 2-3: In the morning, they removed the hose? behind my ear, disinfected it, put a bandage on, I met the doctor, heard that the surgery went well, got my prescription, and they said see you in a week bye bye, so I took the subway and bus home without a mask, hat, or anything and got home fine lol Then from the next day, the swelling started coming up tremendously, and my face went beyond round and started turning square + bruising also started appearing around the nape of my neckㅠ Of course I couldn’t eat rice, so I got by on tofu, eggs, soup, etc. Days 4-5: The swelling changed from square back to round I’m wearing the compression band + doing cold compresses very, very diligently I washed my face carefully too, and since I couldn’t open my mouth wide, I bought a baby toothbrush and brushed slowly I couldn’t control my instincts like appetite and cravings, so with overflowing spirit I tried eating rice lolololol My jaw hurt so much on both sides every time I chewed that I gave up after 1 minute lolololol But I tried again because the desire to eat something tasty when I’m hungry really does not go away lolololol Out of conscience, I ate rice mixed into soup, excluding the hard and tough foods the hospital told me about, or cut jajangmyeon into small pieces and nibbled it, chewing well, ate fries too, and cut pork belly into small pieces and made a wrap the size of my thumb with scallion salad and kimchi and ate it (now that I’m writing it, I ate all sorts of things..ㅠㅠ lolol) Day 6: I don’t wear the compression band anymore. Instead, I’m doing cold compresses very diligently all the time The bruise on the nape of my neck that was about the size of my palm is now about the size of my thumbnail, and my face is still round (the swelling on the right side is going down better) I can eat plain rice just fine and also eat soft snacks. I ate ramen too, and my mouth opens a bit better now hahaha But of course it hurts if I chew a lot for a long timeㅠ So I’m eating small amounts often

Tomorrow is the day I go to the hospital and get the stitches behind my ears removed, yay!! They said they’ll do radiofrequency care? or something, so I hope I receive it well and the swelling goes down quickly tooㅠㅠ I’ll come back again in Week 2♥
