I had surgery to remove the silicone and trim the ear cartilage to match that height. It took me almost a month to decide on removal, but because the foreign-body sensation and pressure were so severe, I think my determination to remove it was fairly firm. I was told that even without symptoms of inflammation, throbbing pain and pressure could possibly be early signs of contracture. I had surgery 8 years ago with silicone and ear cartilage, and before going in for the surgery, I was searching around and saw posts saying that if the nasal tip is hard, there is a high chance that septal extension was performed, and I briefly panicked. After the surgery back then, I don’t think the director ever mentioned anything other than silicone and ear cartilage, but after the surgery, I always felt a foreign-body sensation in my nasal tip, I couldn’t make a pig nose, and it felt like something was tied down. My heart sank, so before removing the silicone, as soon as I saw the director, I asked whether septal extension had been done on my nose, and while examining my nose, the director told me that didn’t seem to be the case. Of course, I was planning to remove only the silicone and trim the cartilage, but I think I was anxious that septal extension might have been done without me knowing. After that, I told the director that I hoped my nasal tip would not turn upward after removal, and they carefully took notes. In the meantime, I showed photos of my nose from 8 years ago on my phone and compared them with my current nose, and after looking at the photos, they told me there was absolutely no reason my nose would turn upward, so I felt relieved. Thinking back, I went in to remove the silicone, but I ended up saying a whole lot of things I wanted. Please keep bruising to a minimum, I really like my current nostril/alar shape, so please keep that as much as possible, and so on... They carefully wrote down everything I said and confirmed it with me, and that alone made me feel comfortable and relieved. Then I went straight into surgery, and because I had sedation anesthesia, I think I woke up when the surgery was almost over. I was half-awake, and the first thing I said to the nurse was, please show me my silicone... When I actually saw it, I was surprised because it was really thin and narrow. I thought, so this is how thin about 2-3 mm is. I was also surprised because the trimmed ear cartilage was bigger than I expected. It was large enough that I wondered whether there would be any ear cartilage left on my nose. As for swelling... I’m not sure.... lol I can’t see it... everything is covered up... Maybe because I took painkillers, I don’t have pain either. But blood is dripping quite a lot^^;;; How I feel after removal... I’m not sure about that yet either. Because I can’t see it lol The height has obviously gotten lower, but if the alar/nostril shape still exists, I think I can still be satisfied... Please, please, I hope they preserved just that..... Anyway, up until the day of removal, I would wake up suddenly from sleep, search things, look in the mirror, and so on... The die has already been cast... so I’m just going to live with it. Face reality, accept reality haha I’m honestly very scared of how it will look after the taping is removed.... but I’ll leave another review Like many people who have left reviews, I also came in and out of this community so often and gained information, courage, and hope from it, so I hope my review helps even a little!!
