I was scared of autologous costal cartilage, and the thought of going through cotton-blocked breathing trouble again felt overwhelming, but I had surgery for about 3 and a half hours starting at 11, and since I live out of town, I’m on the bus home now. Maybe I was too scared from the start, but it’s easier than I expected???! My husband took annual leave from work and came with me, but coming alone would’ve been totally fine... I was going to take a taxi if it hurt, but I went shopping at Apple in front of the clinic, took the subway, and shopped again at the terminal Will my ribs hurt more tomorrow... I’m getting used to the cotton blocking my nose by thinking of it as breathing with a snorkel on~ Blood is flowing little by little.... I’ll probably need to change the gauze under my nose when I get home For dry mouth, I wet sterile gauze with bottled water and put it in front of my mouth inside my mask, so it doesn’t get dry and it’s good The cotton was originally supposed to be removed tomorrow, but because it’s New Year’s Day, I have to keep it in one more day and get it removed the day after tomorrow.. The director says keeping the cotton in longer helps hemostasis better, so there’s less swelling. I’ll just keep the snorkel on one more day, I guess~ Everyone, the sun has set on 2024. I hope everyone receives lots of good fortune in the New Year 2025, and I hope you all have safe and pretty surgeries with no revision surgery needed!
오소링 Did you have surgery by harvesting new autologous costal cartilage? How is the harvested area? It must hurt a lot. You worked hard, everyone here, recover well!
