Tomorrow will be exactly 3 full weeks. Even while thinking, “Wow, 3 weeks have already passed,” I feel even more strongly that I wish time would pass faster so the double eyelids can settle properlyㅠㅠㅠ As I was writing, it got long, so for now I think I will just share my same-day surgery review...⭐️
<Surgery-day review> It was originally scheduled for 1:30 p.m., but the day before surgery they called and said a 9:30 slot had opened up and asked if that time would work too. I remembered seeing somewhere that morning surgery gives better recovery(?), so I said yes. On the day, I arrived at the hospital about 30 minutes early, took preoperative eye photos, changed clothes, and since I was not wearing makeup, I did a simple water wash of my face. I waited, had one more consultation with the director, heard the precautions, had the double-eyelid line design done, and then got on the operating table. The nurses secured my arms and legs, put some kind of cold plate? under my left leg, covered me with a blanket, inserted an IV needle into my right wrist, disinfected my face, covered me with a drape... After the preparation was done, there was a bit of a time gap before the director came in. I did get a little nervous, but I was not scared. I just kept repeating to myself, “Stay calm, stay calm,” infinitely lolololololol After the director came in, sedation anesthesia started right away through the IV needle in my wrist (sedation anesthesia followed by local anesthesia). Rather than feeling like falling asleep, it felt like a square-square world opened in front of my eyes and I got a little dazed. When I woke up, one eye was almost finished. Then while doing the other eye, I talked with the director about traveling in Japan. I told the doctor about a few good restaurants in Osaka, and the doctor complimented me, saying, “You speak Japanese really well?” lolololololol (random, but.. thank you..) We talked about various things, and then the surgery ended. I think it took about an hour and a half. When I read sedation anesthesia stories, a lot of people create embarrassing dark history by saying nonsense, so I worried, “What if I do that too?” but fortunately I do not think I did anything like that lol. Anyway, while silently repeating “thank goodness,” I iced in the recovery room for about 30 minutes and then was discharged. I did not particularly feel pain or anything. When I changed clothes and went to the counter, they gave me a shopping bag. Inside the shopping bag were discharge instructions, an eye cold/warm pack, and a prescription. I got the medicine at the pharmacy on the 1st floor of the hospital building, came out, and looked at my face with my phone selfie camera...ㄷㄷㄷ...shock Since it only takes two buses from the hospital to my house, I decided to take the bus home. (Even if it takes longer than the subway, I prefer the bus hehe) People usually say that after eye anesthesia wears off, the gates of hell open, but it took a little under two hours to get home, and even during that time I had no pain at all. It just felt pretty severely swollen and tight..? Ah, there was a bit of an aftereffect from the sedation anesthesia. My stomach felt a little bad and I was slightly dizzy.. I thought I should have stayed lying down in the recovery room a little longerㅠㅠㅠ Anyway, after I got home, I took the medicine, did cold compresses, and the day passed like that.
That is it for the same-day review haha. As I said earlier, tomorrow will be exactly 3 full weeks, and scar tissue is gradually rising at the inner corners of my eyes, so the tight feeling in my eyelids is no joke.. I hope it goes down soonㅠㅠㅠ
