Hello~ It’s been 4 years since my double eyelid surgery~ I had non-incisional ptosis correction at ㅇㅇㄷ four years ago, and right now nobody knows I had eye surgery. I never hid it, but I never felt the need to tell everyone I met, “I had double eyelid surgery.” When someone says, “Your eyes are pretty~,” I say, “I had double eyelid surgery.” Everyone was really surprised they couldn’t tell, and they even said, “Where did you get it done? I’ll get it done there!!” One of my college friends knew me, and only found out a year later that I had double eyelid surgery (I thought I had told them, but I actually hadn’t), and they said that was one of the most shocking things during college life and that they never could have imagined it.. When I close my eyes, there are absolutely no marks at all. There’s no lifted look either, and even when I’m bare-faced, the eyes have no visible marks at all, to the point that even I wouldn’t think I had double eyelid surgery!! Even when I smile, it looks natural~
The reason I chose ㅇㅇㄷ was just because I was scrolling Facebook and saw that a pretty idol-looking person had gotten it done there, so I said I wanted a consultation, but they told me that I could only get that price if I paid a deposit right then, so it was my first consultation and I ended up putting down the deposit as soon as I got there (honestly, if I said I’d look into other places instead of doing it here, I thought my dad wouldn’t pay for it, so I just said I’d do it right away).
I didn’t specifically choose a doctor, because I went without having researched anything online, and the manager noona assigned one for me. Maybe because it was the off-season, the doctor did the consultation. I didn’t have ptosis, but back then I didn’t even know that ptosis was needed to do eye correction. The doctor said, “If you want your eyes to look rounder and a bit bigger, get non-incisional ptosis correction!!” so I said yes right away~ I thought pricier would probably be better, and I paid 1.5 million won ;;
I think I paid quite a bit. In my opinion, during the off-season it seems right to get a consultation, receive the price estimate during peak season, and then place the deposit if you like it. During peak season it gets much cheaper, and my friend went during peak season and got it for 1.1 million won, with inner corner canthoplasty included.. But maybe because it was peak season, the doctor consultation was given before surgery. Oh right! The doctor had worked at ㄹㅈ, and they said he was famous for being good, so ㅇㅇㄷ had scouted him. Maybe that’s why he’s not there now.. I can’t even remember his name ㅜ
When consulting, I never said things like “Make me look like so-and-so” ㅜ I always said: make it pretty, make it natural, and make it suit my face perfectly. Honestly, my eyes only lacked a double eyelid crease; the horizontal length was long, my nose shape was nice, and my lips were full.. My forehead is also rounded like my mom’s, and aside from my eyes, I don’t really have any sharp or awkward features, so I think that made it look even better.
But before surgery I injured my leg, so after the surgery I couldn’t move at all for two months. Because of that, the swelling really only went down completely after one year, and that’s when it settled beautifully. Even up to six months, the swelling was puffy and my eyes looked intense, so I cried every day, looked in the mirror and regretted it, and went to the hospital once a month and all that. I even went to ㅇㅈ in Gangnam and got a revision surgery consultation. For anyone really worried about swelling, time is the cure. The manager noona also said it couldn’t possibly stay swollen like that forever and told me to wait a little longer, that it was probably because I had injured my leg, and that managing the early swelling was important. She said that warm compresses alone won’t make it go down and that walking was the most important thing~ Thinking about it now, I wonder why I acted that way.
Oh! And after my surgery turned out well, my friends also went when they became adults, but they said the person who did my surgery had moved to another place, though I don’t know where. I also couldn’t remember the name, so they had someone else do it. One friend specifically wanted to get an in-line shape and said to make it completely natural, but it came out so natural and exactly the way they wanted that they said they wanted to do it again and wanted to switch to an in-out shape, they said. Another friend had a basic eye shape with an unusually strong individual look and lots of eyelid fat, so everyone tried to stop them, but they said only incision was possible and that they wanted in-out, so they got in-out; even now, two years later, the swelling hasn’t gone down and it looks like a thin sausage (but they’re extremely satisfied with it..).
Rather than recommending ㅇㅇㄷ, I’d recommend that doctor, but as you can see, even my two friends went to different doctors. In my opinion, for double eyelid surgery, the doctor’s aesthetic sense is also important. And I think the doctor needs to have seen many transformed patients. Instead of blindly recommending a shady doctor, when you meet a proper doctor, I think it’s important to say what style you want, but also ask what shape suits you and to make it fit your face as much as possible. Just bringing celebrity photos and saying you want the eyes to look like that doesn’t work either, because even if the eyes come out that way, the rest of the face is different!!
Don’t get greedy ~ Have one consultation in the off-season and one in peak season!! Go! In peak season they say there are no dates left, but my friends went during peak season and still managed to get dates just fine. But in the off-season you can receive a doctor consultation, while in peak season you can’t get the doctor’s consultation except before surgery~
If you’re planning to get double eyelid surgery, I recommend it!! Talk a lot with the doctor and adjust things carefully, so you get eyes that don’t look obvious but are beautiful!! Eyes so pretty they look like they were always naturally yours~~:-)
