I had severe malocclusion, protruding teeth, a protruding mouth, and my jaw was crooked too.. At first, they recommended double-jaw surgery instead of orthodontic treatment, but double-jaw surgery was too scary for me at the time, so I gave up on it and chose orthodontics I had already had all my wisdom teeth removed long before, so they were gone, and because it was protrusion correction, I had 4 small molars extracted (this was the scariest; even the anesthetic injections really hurt so much) Even after filling up 3 full years, I had the braces on much longer than the expected period. I guess protrusion correction can’t be helped. I had the screws everyone else gets placed in my gums too, wore rubber bands, and it hurt so, so much and was hard, but I didn’t lose weight... Once you adjust, you eat well right away lolol Who said you lose weight? After orthodontic treatment, the nasolabial folds do become visible But now wherever I go, I hear a lot that my teeth are so straight and pretty, so I often think I’m really glad I did it When I smile, even to me they look straight, and after biting into food, seeing the neat bite marks really makes me feel amazing It takes more time than money and you go through a lot, but my malocclusion and facial asymmetry were corrected a lot too, so I’m really very satisfied They say orthodontic treatment puts strain on the teeth afterward, but I’m not sure yet Ask me anything you’re curious about!!!
