Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Review of Double Jaw Surgery for Cosmetic Purposes

Title: Long Face and Facial Asymmetry, 3 Months After Double Jaw Surgery (Honest Review) I didn’t particularly have a protruding lower jaw or malocclusion, but since childhood, my long face and facial asymmetry were a complex for me. I always pressed hard around my jaw hoping it would get smaller, and I also went to an aesthetic clinic for small-face care, but my facial shape complex didn’t especially improve. From age 25, I considered double jaw surgery and went for consultations, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it, so I left it alone and lived with it. After 5 years, I made up my mind and went to consultations at several places. First, because double jaw surgery has high risks, I mainly went around oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics. After visiting about 7 places, I decided to have surgery at an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic that felt safe and trustworthy. It felt professional, so I thought there probably wouldn’t be a major accident. So I booked double jaw surgery and two types of facial contouring (square jaw and chin), set the surgery date, prepared the items needed before surgery, and took a lot of iron supplements. Because it’s a major surgery, iron is important, but even though I took iron supplements, I was still low on iron, so I received about 2 additional iron injections. Then I completed the internal medicine checkup before surgery, was judged to have no major issues for double jaw surgery, and went into the operating room. When you actually put on the surgical gown and lie on the bed, it’s really scary, but because the anesthetic goes in, there wasn’t any particular pain. After several hours, when they woke me up, my face was wrapped with a compression band and gauze? or something like that, and I moved to the recovery room. For several hours after surgery, you’re not supposed to sleep, but honestly, I pretended not to sleep and dozed a bit... I needed to breathe deeply and stay awake to clear the anesthesia, but sitting still made me sleepy. Still, after recovering safely, I slept. For 3 days after surgery, I almost didn’t feel hungry at all, so it was okay to just drink a little New Care, and even that, I didn’t really feel like having. After surgery, I didn’t even want to look at my phone, and it felt like I was inside a room of time and mind, so I spent the time at the hospital feeling strange. Then on day 4, I was safely discharged home. They recommend a taxi for short distances, but I took the bus from Seoul to Incheon. I arrived safely without overdoing it too much. Right after surgery, my face wasn’t swollen, but by day 3, it became extremely puffy. And until day 7, I was hungry but tried to endure it. But the most painful thing was bad breath. The hospital gave me mouthwash, so I used it, but New Care residue stayed inside my mouth, and the smell was so bad that on day 7, I actually took the wafer out slightly and wiped the residue with my finger They told me not to remove the wafer... From day 7, I was so hungry that I thought I might die, felt very dizzy, and lost a lot of weight. The hospital told me not to chew until week 3, so I only had castella, milk, New Care, etc., and around week 2, I ordered gukbap and swallowed rice soaked in broth without chewing at all. And I chopped Chapagetti very finely and swallowed it. I tried making baby food myself and swallowing it from an empty bottle, but it tasted so bad Once it reached 3 weeks, I could eat rice, so life became bearable. There was still a lot of swelling, but I could roughly take off the band and walk around outside. But my pronunciation was still slurred.. From around one month, I started working again, and now I’m at 3 months and living well. Because I only had surgery without orthodontic treatment, from one month after surgery I had to work hard on mouth exercises, and now I have recovered well without occlusion problems. Because the hospital has a safety-oriented style, the change wasn’t dramatic, but my facial shape improved a lot, and I think I safely got a good result. Some people around me say my face got smaller, and some say there isn’t much difference, so for double jaw surgery, I think it turned out naturally. My mom and younger sibling notice, but my dad and grandmother don’t realize I had surgery. Still, I think it’s better than having severe side effects that make the mouth shape and face look strange.
