It’s almost been a year since I had two-jaw surgery. I had two-jaw surgery + two types of contouring surgery (square jaw, chin) at Y Oral Surgery on January 11, 2024. When I looked at photos taken before surgery, I knew I had an underbite, and because that was a complex of mine, I looked unconfident and couldn’t smile brightly. And even when I smiled, I think I covered my mouth while smiling. Aside from appearance, I also felt discomfort when chewing noodles or when I had to bite food into pieces because I couldn’t use my front teeth well. After surgery, my jaw, which had been my biggest complex, moved back, so I came to have a normal facial profile. My appearance also improved a lot, so now I’m very satisfied with how I look and I think I’m living with confidence. Also, when biting food into pieces, I can now bite well with my front teeth, so there has been a lot of functional improvement too. I’m very satisfied both functionally and aesthetically, and although it was so hard to recover after the surgery.. If someone asked whether I would do it again if I could go back, I think I would answer that I would have the surgery. When people around me first saw me, some couldn’t recognize me because I had changed so much. I think it was because my face changed a lot and because of the swelling. Now the swelling has all gone down and my face has settled to some extent, so people I meet for the first time don’t even suspect I had two-jaw surgery. I guess that means it looks that natural?.. When I sometimes look at old photos together with acquaintances, some people say I really had a glow-up after surgery.. hahahaha One year later now, I’m living such a completely normal life that I sometimes even forget I had surgery!
