Review of double eyelid incision surgery It has now been about two months since I had double eyelid surgery. I thought about it for a long time and eventually chose the incisional method, and in the end, I’m satisfied with the results, so I’m leaving this review. Before the surgery, I was often told that my eyes looked a bit small and sleepy. Especially in the mornings, my eyes were even more swollen, and when taking photos, it felt like I could barely open my eyes. I chose the incisional method because I wanted to create a clearer impression with a natural in-out line. On the day of surgery, I was more nervous than I expected. Since it was done under local anesthesia, the doctor adjusted the line while asking me to open my eyes from time to time. There was a slight pulling sensation, but it didn’t hurt. The surgery took about 1 hour. When I looked in the mirror afterward, my eyes were very swollen, so I was a little scared, but I knew this was common, so I didn’t worry too much. For the first week, honestly, every time I looked in the mirror, I thought, “Did I do this for nothing?” My eyes were very swollen, and the bruising was pretty bad too. But I kept applying ice packs and took the swelling medication properly, and it gradually improved. From the second week, the swelling definitely started to go down, and the line began to settle into place. People around me also said, “The swelling has gone down a lot.” After the stitches were removed, washing my face also became easier. After about a month, it looked even more natural. Maybe because I had ptosis correction done together, my eyes look much clearer, and even if they swell in the morning, the swelling goes down quickly. I’m also satisfied because my eyes look bigger when I do makeup. Now it looks so natural that people seeing me for the first time don’t even know I had surgery. I’ve even heard, “Were your eyes always this big?” In conclusion, the incisional method was exactly the right choice for me. I worried a lot about swelling, but as time passed, it became really natural, and thanks to the ptosis correction, the sleepy-looking impression disappeared too. If you have a complex about your eyes like I did, I recommend considering the incisional method as well.
