When I had my first surgery, I didn’t know anything and went for consultations at exactly 2 clinics recommended by an acquaintance.
One was a large hospital, and the other was a small clinic with just one director. My mother was trying to make a reservation at the large hospital, but I said I wanted to have it done at the place with just one director, so I had the surgery at a small clinic near Gangnam Station.
The consultation was only with the director, and they didn’t recommend surgery on any other areas. Instead, they said just doing the nose would be enough.
I was genuinely 200% satisfied with the surgical result.
But exactly about 1 year after the surgery, my nose suddenly hurt as if blood had rushed into it, and it gradually swelled until I looked completely like an Avatar..
When they said that if I treated it without removing the silicone it could recur and that it had to be removed, I was truly devastated. But after removing it, it wasn’t as bad as I expected, so I was satisfied. Then after coming back from military service, I thought, “Let’s try putting it in just one more time,” so I had it inserted again, but exactly after 1 year inflammation developed again, and it’s been about 9 years since I removed it.
They willingly did the implant removal, reinsertion, and removal again all free of charge, and I thought I was really fortunate to have had surgery from such a good doctor, but I’m not sure whether they’re still working as a plastic surgeon now.
My nose shape was honestly the prettiest when I had the surgery, but even now, about 9 years after removing the silicone, I’m living fairly satisfied with it.
