I saw a lot of comments on posts asking whether there’s no cheek sagging after cheekbone reduction, so I’m posting a review! I had it done around my sophomore year of college, so it’s already been about 6 years. My face was always on the larger side, and my cheekbones were really severe. While I was getting orthodontic treatment, my cheek fat hollowed out, and people said all they could see were my cheekbones. Even my dad asked first if I couldn’t just shave down my cheekbones, so I decided to have surgery ㅠ
I don’t remember the exact location, but I had it done in Seoul at ㄵ,ㅎ. At the time, I searched a ton on Naver cafes, then went with a friend. My friend did square jaw surgery and I did cheekbones. We booked as soon as we got there and had surgery the next week. I think it was fixed, and the incisions were inside the mouth and near the sideburn area.
When I read cheekbone reduction reviews, I thought all the swelling would go down in about a month, but that’s all a lie.. When I look at photos from then, the area around my philtrum and nasolabial folds was really swollen. I didn’t even know and was meeting people like that, but thankfully no one noticed I had cheekbone surgery.
I’m satisfied with the surgical result overall. Pros: softer image, look slightly younger, felt like the front cheek area filled out a bit Cons: cheek hollowing (I only realized after 6 years that this was a side effect, but it doesn’t bother me much) / I’m not really sure about cheek sagging There’s still some cheekbone remaining near the sideburn area, but I think that’s an issue with my facial bone structure itself. If I just cover that part slightly, it looks like I don’t have cheekbones.
I haven’t done lifting or anything, but these days my nasolabial folds are getting deeper, so I wonder if that means cheek sagging is coming. Still, even if I went back, I think I’d definitely do it again.. I’ve had cheekbone reduction, double eyelid surgery, forehead filler, jaw Botox, contour injections, and nose surgery. Among them, this was the surgery I was most satisfied with!
