I was someone who thought I wanted to try surgery but was scared, and a close older friend said she had gotten a job at a plastic surgery clinic and that if someone she recommended had cosmetic surgery, they would get a discount. So without much thought, I made a consultation appointment together with a younger friend I know and went in for a consultation. The doctor that older friend was pushing?? was a female doctor. I don't remember her full name, but her surname was Ahn. So my younger friend and I were recommended what would make us look prettier. My friend was recommended double eyelid surgery, epicanthoplasty, cutting the nasal bridge bone, and nasal tip surgery. I was recommended double eyelid surgery, nasal bridge osteotomy, nasal tip surgery, alar reduction, and fat grafting to the anterior cheekbones. Right away, on that same day, I was like, okay, since we're talking about it, let's just try it, and both of us just paid deposits and scheduled surgery dates.....
Thinking about it now, it really feels crazy. I truly had not even 1 bit of interest in cosmetic surgery, but like I was buying some item, I just thoughtlessly assumed it would turn out well, and since that older friend said they were good, I figured they would do a good job.
Anyway, talking only about my nose, I had it done with an open approach. I did have a nasal bridge, but my nasal tip was blunt, and when I smiled my nose spread out a lot. It was called a bulbous nose, my nostrils were round and wide, and my nose was on the large side, but it wasn't extremely severe. Still, it was not an aesthetically beautiful nose. Also, there was slight deviation, and the central bridge area dipped in a little, like a slight hump shape. Oh, and my nasal bridge was very wide from side to side. Now after surgery, my nasal bridge is still wide from side to side, and the hump is less than before but still noticeable. And they used ear cartilage for my nasal tip, but they made it very, extremely high. Overall, compared with the bridge, only the tip is very high on my face, so from the side it makes me look like I have a retruded chin? Also, they cut for alar reduction through an external open approach, but my nostrils are still very large, and when I smile the nasal alae flare and it becomes like a huge nose, so I don't upload photos without Photoshop... Anyway, if someone saw me, they wouldn't know I had nose surgery. You would think they would make it a bit smaller, with a more defined and beautiful line, right? It's not a bad nose because only the tip is high, but from the front I feel like my nose is quite large compared with my face. If I don't cover my nose, I hate how much my nose spreads when I smile... Still, it became much prettier than before surgery, but I am very dissatisfied. I want to turn back time to when I was having that consultation Why did I do that? Why didn't I look into it and just said okay on the spot without knowing anything..... The price was not cheap at all either... If I think back to that time, that older friend was saying that anywhere else would be more expensive than this, and that female doctor was the best in this field, an up-and-coming skilled doctor, hyping it up a bit. I think I just went, oh, I see, mm-hm, okay, let's just do it Because of this, I said I would never get cosmetic surgery again. I had never gone to a plastic surgery clinic or even gotten common Botox or filler once, and I was just getting older. But as the desire to become prettier gradually grew, I joined with the mindset that I would not fail this time. But getting nose surgery is so difficult, and if I had to do it again it would be too scary, so now I am only looking into nasal tip surgery and petit procedures. Like everyone, I also want to learn a lot going forward.
For reference, my younger friend turned out very natural, so no one knows they had surgery. It just looks like an ordinary person's nose. I don't know if that's good or bad
