I disliked people seeing my face from the side rather than straight on because I had a low, small nose and a face with very little definition. I had considered nose surgery since I was 20, but for ten years I repeatedly decided to have surgery and then gave up, fearing that touching the wrong area in such an overall difficult situation would make the surgical look obvious or cause complications... T_T
I eventually decided that the technology and data had matured enough, and searched for a clinic based on my own firm standards: using only autologous tissue; choosing the best surgical method; having the procedure with a single-director surgeon whose philosophy was firm and who specialized in revision surgery; excellent aesthetic judgment; and high-quality aftercare and service. Since it would involve my body, cost was not my primary consideration. I wanted to finish everything at the highest level in one go because I never wanted to contemplate revision surgery.
I learned about RU Plastic Surgery, which met all my conditions. Director Kim Hyun-joo diagnosed me with an entire nasal bridge and tip using autologous costal cartilage (RU 3D DCF), plus short-nose correction, nasolabial angle correction, and nostril lowering. I have prominent eyes and wanted to raise the glabella, but she said it would look artificial because my brow bones were not developed, so it was not recommended. Her clear explanation of what should not be done made me trust her even more. I felt that she considered what shape would be most beautiful and harmonious for each patient's face.
Director Kim always asked, “Is there anything else you would like to ask?” I was very grateful for that. Although she must be extremely busy as a solo director, she always listened carefully and gave sincere, thoughtful opinions. The clinic manager, Ahn Hyun-joo, was also incredibly attentive. She understood that even minor discomfort can make a patient anxious and always answered kindly and thoroughly. It seemed that everyone working at the clinic shared this attitude.
Recovery was smooth apart from feeling physically run-down from general anesthesia. Considering that I had both eye and nose surgery, I had surprisingly little swelling. I normally swell a lot by nature, but many people told me I was much less swollen than expected. I think I did not swell much because the director operated so cleanly.
Now that a month has passed, all the swelling in my nose is gone and it is settling into a pretty shape. I am extremely satisfied, and it is fun doing my makeup to suit my new face. Oh, and for reference, people can tell that I had eye surgery, but unless I tell them first, they cannot tell that I had nose surgery..! The improvement in my profile is huge, but they still do not notice... When I tell them I had my nose done too, they say, “Wow... now that you mention it, your profile is beautifully refined. Your nose looks so natural and pretty. There is no obvious sign of surgery at all.” Everyone says this.
I think it means I now have the most optimal, harmonious nose for my face, so I consider it the greatest compliment. The only downside is that I will have to live carefully, treating my nose like royalty from now on, but I am so, so, so satisfied that I feel receiving surgery from Director Kim at this clinic at exactly this point was the greatest blessing in my life. ☺️
