Nose Surgery Reviews

Did I choose the right clinic for my first short upturned nose surgery?

My naturally short, upturned nose, with no previous cosmetic surgery, was such a complex that I spent a lot of time researching clinics while considering rhinoplasty. I thought cost and the doctor's skill were most important, so I compared several clinics carefully. Among them, [Clinic A] had the most reasonable price and did not make unnecessary recommendations, which I liked. Most of all, I trusted the doctor because I felt confident about my nose. Maybe it was the aura of an expert… lol. After the consultation, I paid the deposit the very next day and booked surgery! I had surgery with Dr. [Doctor A] at [Clinic A], using autologous costal cartilage for my first rhinoplasty. The biggest change after surgery was people's reactions. My image changed so much that people around me could barely recognize me, which surprised me too lol. The thing I heard most was, “Can a person really change this much from just one nose?” As my upturned tip came down, people said I looked much more three-dimensional, mature, and sophisticated. Before surgery, I said I wanted a playful yet sophisticated image, and I am satisfied that it turned out close to the mood I wanted! It has only been about a month, so there is still swelling, but I am satisfied even now and look forward to seeing how it will look once more swelling goes down haha. I was also very scared at first because it involved autologous costal cartilage. I usually do not respond easily to anesthesia, so I was very worried, but after surgery I opened my eyes and it was already over! Everyone is different, but I had almost no pain in the nose itself; it was just a little uncomfortable to breathe at first. Instead, the rib cartilage harvest site throbbed a little, but after about a week the pain was almost gone. I could even walk around wearing an abdominal binder lol. I had many worries because it was my first rhinoplasty, but I feel fortunate to have had it done by Dr. [Doctor A] at [Clinic A]. Even though the swelling has not fully gone down, I am satisfied that people's reactions are good and that I am closer to the image I wanted. I am looking forward to seeing it after more swelling goes down! I hope my review helps anyone deliberating about rhinoplasty, even a little :)
