Today I had it removed at ㅇㄱㅈㅇㅇㅂ.

From right after my first surgery through revision surgery and all the way to full removal, I worried a lot and had nowhere to ask questions, so I got a lot of help from this community. I will reply to comments as much as I can, and I would appreciate it if you could leave public comments rather than private ones whenever possible. People who are desperate really need information, and I think private comments just pile up more worry and anxiety! <First surgery> In November 2020, at ㅂㅅㅎㅇㄱ, I had surgery for deviated septum / nasal valve reconstruction / inferior turbinate reduction + hump correction / septal extension / septal support / septal cartilage placed on the tip of the nose for bulbous nose correction. Later I found out that after the hump correction, they had inserted a little septal cartilage into the uneven area, between the glabella and the hump, and between the hump and the nasal tip. <Why I considered revision/removal> 1. Remaining hump -> I knew the hump could remain, and visually I did not have a big complaint, but when I touched it, the hump was still pointed, and that made me anxious. That sharp part was showing through. If there were no problems with the skin or anything else, I would not have planned a revision. I also asked about this during the removal consultation, and they said only one out of six areas could have the skin thin over time, and there were no issues with the others! 2. Step at the nasal tip -> I knew this could happen too, but the tip was so sharp that it seemed even more noticeable. 3. Sharp nasal tip -> I think communication with the surgeon is especially important in cosmetic surgery, but I did not have enough communication during the pre-op consultation, so I think it did not come out in the shape I wanted. 4. Hardness of the tip and columella -> discomfort when wearing a mask and when exercising, plus anxiety. <Removal> 1. Because I could not tell how much septum was left from the deviated septum surgery, I decided to keep the septal cartilage in the bridge area and shave the hump only to the extent that was safe and not sharp. 2. Removed the septal extension and columellar support. 3. There were two pieces of septal cartilage placed on the tip, but I softened and kept only one piece -> to prevent tip depression and some drooping of the tip, and to correct the bulbous nose. <Day of surgery> The sedation anesthesia was only for about 10 minutes, so fasting was not required, but I fasted because I was anxious. When I got to the hospital, I first had a consultation with the doctor, and then confirmed the surgery details again. Changed clothes -> washed face -> nasal hair removal / antibiotic test -> the doctor personally took photos -> surgery. Before the sedation anesthesia during surgery, the nurse explained everything in detail and reassured me so I would not be scared. In the first surgery, I think they just put me under as soon as I went in, but this time I was awake until the doctor came in, which was both scary and reassuring! After the anesthesia, the moment I suddenly came to, the doctor explained everything in detail while proceeding with the surgery. I could feel a pulling sensation in the nose and that something was being shaved, but it did not hurt. Near the end, while stitching, there was a slight stinging. After the surgery, the doctor showed me everything that had been taken out of my nose. I was able to walk right away after the surgery, which was great, and after waiting for about an hour with an ice pack, the nurse and manager brought pumpkin porridge and soy milk, and also gave me a cooling mask and an instruction sheet, carefully explaining the precautions. Everyone at the front desk, the nurses, and the manager here was really kind. After one last consultation with the doctor, I went home. I feel like I may have written this too positively, but I still do not trust plastic surgery clinics at all. Even if things look fine now, I know I cannot tell how they will change later, and everyone is different, as is the recovery. Still, this was the hospital I chose and trusted, so I am trying not to think negatively! It is the day of surgery today and the tape is still on, so I will upload photos again later. I wrote this in a very disorganized way, so the post may be too long and I may have left things out. If needed, I will add more later!! And the part I am most worried about right now is that I do not know whether the septum was safely preserved during the deviated septum surgery, but the septal extension and support were both removed So I am really worried about whether columellar retraction will happen. If there is no issue after a year or two of follow-up, can I stop worrying If anyone has the same case or knows well about this, please leave a comment
