At first, I ended up doing it at a neighborhood dental clinic (the place my dad went to for cavity treatment). I’m the type to thoroughly look into things here and there, but I thought my dad wouldn’t let me do it if I said I didn’t want to do it there, so before I knew it, I went in for cavity treatment and ended up starting orthodontic treatmentㅠㅠ I had only one tooth extracted, and only did my upper teeth. Maybe because it was only the upper teeth and it was a neighborhood dental clinic, it was quite cheap. I think all the costs for orthodontics were around 2 million won??
But maybe because they removed only one tooth, the symmetry didn’t match, so the upper and lower midlines became different, and my protruding mouth actually got worse, which stressed me out a lot. So I carefully wrote out the reasons why I needed orthodontic retreatment and got my dad’s permission!!ㅠㅠ
This time, hoping it absolutely wouldn’t be like the first orthodontic treatment, I looked into it carefully, and had retreatment at an orthodontic specialty dental clinic. For the retreatment, since the center had become crooked during the first orthodontic treatment and I wanted correction for protruding mouth, I had 3 more teeth extracted. (Because it was an orthodontic specialty clinic, I had the extractions done elsewhere.) The orthodontic specialty clinic was expensive (around 5 million won + an extra 50,000 won each visit + separate examination fees), but it definitely felt professional, and the orthodontic treatment turned out satisfactorily. My protruding mouth improved a lot, and I’m so happy that things don’t get stuck in my teeth much anymore!!
After that, my younger sibling and my friend also completed orthodontic treatment well at the dental clinic I went to:)
For others, no matter how cheap it is, it’s still not a small amount of money, so I hope you look into it carefully before goingㅠㅠㅠ Money is one thing, but the orthodontic period also became twice as long. I started in my first year of high school and wore braces until my second year of university...ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
