I had double-jaw surgery because I hated how my jaw protruded, and I have absolutely no functional side effects. All my nerves are intact, and I have no discomfort at all. But aesthetically? Maybe because there was a step where they rotated and adjusted the maxilla, my nostrils became uneven. My whole face is also a bit asymmetrical. But because I overwhelmingly hated my protruding jaw, I have no regrets at all. I had it done at a university hospital a few years ago. If you have a complex about it, don't agonize over it and go to a university hospital and get it done soon. But if you hate having an odd nose shape more than having a protruding jaw, or if you are sensitive about asymmetry, I don't recommend it.
