Because I was self-conscious about my wide nose and low bridge, I went in for a nose-surgery consultation. They took a nasal endoscopy, looked at the structure of my nose together with me, and explained what kind of surgery I would need. Looking at that photo, they even caught that I have seasonal rhinitis, which surprised me lol I had only been thinking about bridge augmentation and nostril reduction, but they said nostril reduction wasn’t really necessary, and that I would need almost everything except nostril reduction... They said they would build support with costal cartilage at the tip, place ear cartilage on top to make it soft, insert about 4 mm of silicone into the bridge, perform lateral osteotomy on the bridge to make it slimmer, remove a bit of fatty tissue, and do reverse rotation extension and columella lowering... They said my septum is small, so it probably can’t be used, and that I could choose between donor rib cartilage or autologous costal cartilage. Donor rib cartilage has a slightly higher risk of side effects than autologous costal cartilage, and autologous costal cartilage is relatively more stable, but the cost was +100. The consultation with the director was really long. I think I spent almost 30 minutes just with the director. They drew things as if giving a lecture and explained step by step how the surgery would proceed, which made the professionalism really stand out and I liked that. The manager was extremely kind and there was absolutely no pressure to pay a deposit! Before the director’s consultation, the manager also looked at my nose and said nostril reduction probably wouldn’t be necessary, which increased my trust. The cost was higher than I expected and I was still a bit scared, so I didn’t go through with the surgery, but if I make up my mind later, I’d like to go back for another consultation.
+ After getting a CT and consulting at another hospital, they said my septum was large... so I’m not planning to go back for a second consultation
